Bar Julius And Lottie Are Closing At The Eve Hotel, But Two Big Hospitality Names Are Taking Over

Bar Julius and rooftop restaurant Lottie, both located inside The Eve Hotel Sydney, will close their doors at the end of August after less than two years in business. But the spaces won't stay empty for long, with the hospitality group behind Olympus Dining, The Apollo and Cho Cho San confirmed to be taking over both venues later this year.

The move marks another evolution for the $500 million Redfern precinct, which has continued to refine its hospitality offering since opening in late 2024.

Why Are Bar Julius And Lottie Closing?

The venues are currently operated by Liquid & Larder, the group behind Sydney favourites including Bistecca and The Gidley.

After opening in early 2025, the two concepts quickly established themselves as destination venues, with Bar Julius becoming known for its European-inspired all-day offering and Lottie drawing crowds upstairs with rooftop drinks and Mexican-inspired dining.

While both venues earned industry acclaim, the group has confirmed it will step away from the sites at the end of August.

Who's Taking Over The Spaces?

The neighbouring team behind Olympus Dining will assume operation of both venues, expanding its footprint across Wunderlich Lane.

Few details have been revealed about the new concepts, but the group has confirmed both venues are expected to reopen before the end of the year. Early reports suggest the rooftop venue will move away from its existing Mexican direction, although the replacement concept is yet to be announced.

With Olympus already operating one of the precinct's most popular restaurants, the change will see a single hospitality group oversee three adjoining venues within The Eve Hotel.

Wunderlich Lane's Dining Scene Keeps Evolving

Since opening in late 2024, Wunderlich Lane has quickly established itself as one of Sydney's newest dining destinations, bringing together restaurants, bars, retail and The Eve Hotel within the revitalised Redfern precinct.

This isn't the first change to its hospitality lineup. Earlier this year, Baptist Street Rec. Club was reimagined as Vitelli's Upstairs, and the upcoming arrivals signal another new chapter for the development.

While it's farewell to two of the precinct's original venues, the new operators behind Olympus have built a reputation for destination dining—meaning Redfern locals won't have to wait long to see what's next.

Bar Julius and Lottie will continue trading until the end of August, with the replacement venues expected to open later in 2026.
