10 Of The Best Things To Do In Bali With Kids In 2024

By

Packed with beaches, water parks and wildlife sanctuaries, Bali is one big magical tropical playground for both kids and their parents. On your family trip to the Indonesian island, the problem likely won’t be finding things to do with the kids – it’ll be how to possibly squeeze them all into one holiday.

But don’t worry, there are no rules against coming back again (and again).

Here are 10 of the best things to do with kids in Bali in 2024 and beyond.

Breakfast With Orangutans

You read it right. On first appearances, Bali Zoo in Sukawati seems like the standard deal. You can see some pretty amazing animals, and even feed the tigers. But what the little ones will remember for a lifetime is sharing a breakfast spread with the zoo’s resident orangutans. The first program of its kind in Indonesia, you and the kids can enjoy a sumptuous breakfast and hangout with the amazing apes. The experience even includes pick-up from your hotel. Honestly, what are you waiting for?

Ubud’s Monkey Forest

Okay, the primates aren’t quite done. If the orangutan breakie leaves you itching for more time with our long-lost cousins, make bee-line to Ubud’s Monkey Forest. The sanctuary is home to over 186 specials of trees and a beautiful Hindu temple, as well as dozens of macaques. Kids can say hi to Bali’s native primates and also learn about local conservation efforts to protect the species.

Make Your Own Chocolate

A chocolate factory? The little ones probably won’t need a whole lot of convincing. The best bit is Bali’s Krakakoa Chocolate Cafe & Factory invites kids to make their own chocolate treats like something out of Willy Wonka. They’ll also learn about how Indonesian farmers produce the cocoa beans, how to form their favourite types of chocolates, and (of course) bring some of their own creations home.

Discover Your Inner Artist

Berawa Art House is a light-filled art studio that hosts creative sessions in its beachside loft. They teach drawing and painting techniques across a range of mediums, and they offer classes for adults and kids alike.

Spin The Wheel

Why buy souvenirs when you can make your own? There are plenty of studios in Bali where the little ones can learn the art of pottery and come away with their own handmade ceramics. Sari Api offers classes for kids aged four to 14, and Rusters pottery workshop hosts sessions for three to 14 year olds.

Cook Up A Storm

Cookery classes are one of the most popular activities for visitors to Bali. And it’s not just for the oldies. You’ll find loads of restaurants and hotels putting on special cookery classes just for kids, teaching them some basic skills with a few local tips thrown in. Check out some of our top recco spots like the Padma Resort and Cubby House Kids Club.

Climb Up The Walls

Bali Climbing is not just a great place for adults to put their bouldering skills to the test—the walk-in bouldering gym also has a special open-aired space for little ones. Located right next to the beach, it’s a great place to release some energy and show the kids who’s bouldering boss.

Cubby House Kids Club

Situated in FINNS Recreation Club in Canggu, the Cubby House Kids Club hosts children aged two to 12, offering an array of toys and activities, as well as its own kids library, movie theatre, and arts and crafts zone. It’s the ideal place to drop the kids for a few hours of play and learning while you indulge in some downtime.

Play By Como

Play by COMO in Canggu hosts all kinds of activities for kids aged four to 12. The play space is open daily, and offers plenty of cultural activities like Balinese dancing, gamelan lessons, rituals and Batik cloth making. The play programme, which has been designed by early childhood education experts, also includes arts and crafts sessions, board games, and even kids yoga!

Snorkel With Sea Turtles

Home to some of the world’s clearest waters and most active marine life, there’s no better time to take the kids snorkelling than during your Bali trip. There are plenty of beaches all round the coast that offer snorkel hires and guided tours, and there are thousands of friendly sea turtles waiting to swim with you!
