Your accommodation sits on the edge of Daylesford town centre so you’re just minutes from being able to munch up a storm in the local cafes. An added plus? The  cute little food van across the road which serves up jacket potatoes, gourmet hot dogs, and other local delights.

This self-contained stay, tucked in the quieter suburb of Glenlyon in the Hepburn region, is a top spot for a romantic Daylesford vacay. Your room is part of an original surveyor's home from the gold rush era and used to hold the shire council meetings for the area in the early 1900s.

While it's attached to the main house, your accommodation is super private, with its own entrance, bedroom, living area and bathroom. We love how the champions who own this place provide complimentary brekkie: think homemade granola, bread jams, yoghurt as well as essentials like milk, butter, tea and coffee.

Daylesford has Airbnbs galore, but it's also home to some lovely hotels too. Enter Hotel Frangos: the perfect place for a pit-stop while passing through. Located in the heart of the town, there are a good 15 guest rooms to book—all housed in the mid-1800s building.

We love that this place comes with its own on-site cafe—Koukla Daylesford—which is open from 8am to late. The hotel bar is also open daily, so you can settle inside with a glass of the good stuff while checking out the food menu. If the sun's shining, head out to the vine-covered Agora Courtyard for a spot of fresh air.
