Sleek hair season has officially arrived. To skip the pricey salon appointments and get smooth, glossy, keratin-inspired results from home, check out Garnier's new Fructis Keratin Sleek range here.

Welcome to our pick of the beauty crop.

Literally. Launches are all about the earthy touches and juicy scents this month. That, and a crop of new bronzers that can only be described as *quirky and creative.*

Maybe you’re wanting to up your Vitamin C. Perhaps you fancy perusing your bathroom cabinet like a farmer’s market . Or maybe, this month is just about pretending you booked that Euro Summer holiday.

Either way, you’ll find a fruity, sun-filled beauty dose here.

Pixi Dust

PIXI Lands in Aotearoa | Prices Vary

Ummm, have we just found our new favourite affordable cosmetics company? I mean, where else does one find a *perfectly light pink* pearl highlighter balm that’s simply packed with product, for a crisp $38?

Except it’s not just cosmetics. PIXI’s skincare offering is, simply put, refreshing.

They have 30-pair pottles of eye gels that (thank the heavens) don’t command a 3-digit price tag. Instead, there’s three formulations: Depuffing, Brightening, Firming, for $51 a pop.

While you’re scooping up PIXI’s pretty potions on Life Pharmacy’s shelves, their facial toners—well, tonics—are worth poking at. There’s Rose and Elderflower, Vitamin C Brightening toner, and a Glow Tonic with 5% Glycolic Acid for a smidge of exfoliation

Hello, Honey

Gisou Honey Milk Active Repair Leave-In Conditioner Mist | $63

Here’s a hair treat that *actually* leaves the lingering scent it promises. Gisou’s latest, a leave-in conditioner mist, hits you with a heavy dose of honey—and that’s after it’s settled in, post-blow dry.

It sprays on like a dream. The mist is so fine, light and even, you’ll forget that you’re spraying a heavy-lifting, leave-in conditioner. Moreover, it’s been fortified to be a thorough detangler (we can attest to that) and give you up to 230 degrees of heat protection. Home run, Gisou.

Prevage Revival

Elizabeth Arden’s PREVAGE® Multi-Restorative Creams | Prices Vary

Image Credit: Hope Patterson | Supplied

Two skincare classics have had a revamp. Elizabeth Arden’s PREVAGE® Multi-Restorative Creams have been tweaked to be even more potent in their mission to prevent over 99% of collagen damage (and sidestep the 8 visible signs of ageing that daily stressors cause us).

It’s quite simple really. The Day cream now has SPF 30 PA++ while delivering cellular defence  (Those extra plus signs stand for their ability to block UVA rays).

As for the Multi-Restorative Night Cream, she too helps tackle those 8 signs of ageing—just while you sleep. It’s a power player for rejuvenating quickly, and, in our opinion, smoothing the skin out overnight

You Go, Gourd

Jo Malone London’s Brit Veggies Collection | Prices Vary

Image Credit: Jo Malone | Supplied

Dreaming of another tomato girl summer? How’s a Carrot Blossom Autumn? Perhaps with a Scarlet Beetroot sundowner session?

Jo Malone London’s latest, “The Veggies Collection” brings us root and gourd-inspired fragrances, alongside tomato-leaf-tinged home essentials. Like any good farmers market, get in quick for your pick of the crop—most of these are limited edition.

Going Loco For Cocoa

Polite Society Cocoa Caviar Bio-Peptide Bronzing Serum | $57

Caviar and cocoa in one serum? Oh do let us indulge. Polite Society’s Cocoa Caviar Bio-Peptide Bronzing Serum is one bottle that’s packed with oodles of bronzing caviar-shaped bronzing pigments, all floating in a Bio-Peptide Concentrate that also happens to boost your skin’s barrier. The fact that it’s a serum, means that they’ll dive deeply into your skin—along with hydration-boosting cacao extracts.

It’s just the one shade here, with the idea that it melds to your complexion and provides you with just enough of a sun-kiss. It’s buildable and designed to slot under make-up if you need a little amping up.

Blooming Gorgeous

Maison Margiela Up At Dawn Eau De Toilette | From $66.00

No perfume goes from day to night as much as Replica’s latest does. At first whiff, you get a rose garden in full bloom. Pink, sprightly and fresh.

Let it settle a minute (literally) and a freshly-snapped twig and frosty lawn scent takes over. Green, but not at all grassy.

We don’t know how Replica’s new Up At Dawn fragrance sits on both ends of the fragrance spectrum, but we do know that we’ll be dowsing ourselves in it for the foreseeable future.

A Mocha Moment

Dermal Therapy Mocha Brown Tinted Lip Balm | $13

Image Credit: Chemist Warehouse | Website

Proving that mocha is well and truly the lip colour of the moment, is Dermal Therapy’s new Mocha Brown Tinted Lip Balm. It’s creamy, tinted and gloriously golden. Aesthetics aside, the tube is 2.5% of urea (one of the staple hydrating ingredients) and feels equal parts smooth and impressively cool on the lips.

Coffee on our next Chemist Warehouse run? Consider us buzzed.

Haaland’s Little Helper

Knekki Hair Ties | From $8

Image Credit: The Skin Wardrobe | Supplied

We didn’t think we’d be jumping for joy this high over hair ties, but this beauty launch was basically written in the stars.

Haaland—the silky-footed and tressed footballer taking the internet by storm—has a favourite hair tie brand. As chance would have it, Auckland’s dedicated Scandi cosmetic store The Skin Wardrobe, brought it to Aotearoa. And get this: it launched the very week Haaland-mania hit a high.

It’s not at all in vain: Knekki hair ties are oh-so-durable (I mean look at that braid) and woven with 60 whole threads to minimise hair snagging. Oh, they’re woven on vintage looms from the 1960’s.

Another Good Hair Day

GHD | Once Again Refreshing Dry Shampoo $49

Our hair fairy god parents, GHD, have been hard at work. They’ve given us one more day out of our blow-dry. Behold, their first-ever dry shampoo: the Once Again Refreshing Dry Shampoo.

In true GHD form, it’s jaw-droppingly lightweight (the texture finish, that is, not the results, obvi). Plus, it has *that* signature golden, ylang-ylang and bergamot scent. More than a style extender and hair-wash-day skipper, this baby also adds a decent amount of volume to your hair.

Take Me To Taormina

Tom Ford’s Taormina Orange Private Blend | Prices Vary

Image Credit: Tom Ford | Supplied

For the White Lotus obsessive who’s pipped about being on this side of the equator right now: perhaps Tom Ford’s new Taormina Orange Private Blend can stamp out your no-holiday blues?

You bet it’s a juicy, strong and sun-soaked scent. Sure, she’s a splurge, but the cost per use is stronger than a bottle of limoncello—and it's, of course, easier on the pocket than a flight. One thing’s for sure: it’s best paired with Aperol Spritz and a nostalgic scroll in your Euro ‘24 phone roll.

Give Us The Gloss

MECCA MAX’s Boss Gloss | $25

Good news for anyone going through both a lip gloss and a mocha-toned makeup phase: MECCA MAX’s Boss Gloss has been tweaked with 12 totally new shades.

They’re heavy on the chocolate, caramel and black-forest kinda tones. Speaking of rich, the formula is designed to be sheer, with many are on the crème side. Sparkles are finally-milled, and the applicator has perhaps one of the sharpest tips we’ve seen.

If you’re going to go for one (hard-pressed, they’re a reasonable $25 a pop) make it the ‘Aura:’ a dusty-rose with an iridescent tinge that’s gotta be universally flattering.

London Calling

Floris Eau De Parfum and Toilette | $379.99

Breaking fragrance news, Floris London is now here in Aotearoa—and you can pick it up during your next hair-tie and lipstick swoop.

Everyone say thank you to Life Pharmacy, the exclusive New Zealand retailers, who have brought oodles of Floris’ classic Eau De Toilette and Parfums online and in-store around the country. Plus, they even have the tiny 10ml tubes for you blind-buyers out there. Oh, and price-wise, they basically retail at their pounds-to-NZD conversion isn’t too pinchy (thank the heavens).

The selection is balanced, led mostly by florals and woody blends. White Rose is our favourite; a gutsy floral and airy eau-de-toilette. Grounded in iris, it’s Turkish Delight wrapped in a white floral organza

Lift The Veil

Lunar Veil Chrono-Active Sleep Mask | $159

When they said that icy blue would be everywhere in 2026, we weren’t banking on it being in our skincare. Yet here we are, obsessed with Raeso’s powdery blue Lunar Veil Chrono-Active Sleep Mask and the magic it works.

Except it isn’t really magic. Rather, a serious understanding of how our skin actually works at night. The mask has a three-phase delivery system that lets the exfoliating actives and hydrating marine and botanic extracts seep into your skin at the time your skin actually needs it. There’s manuka honey, local black fern and green tea, alongside ferments, time-release mandelic acid and oh so many more.

It’s a real all-rounder, this Lunar Veil: offering a boosted barrier, a balanced microbiome, radiance and smoother skin.

Oh, and it smells like a day spa. Rejuvenation at its finest.

 Sleek Without The Salon

Garnier Fructis Keratin Sleek Range | From $14.00

As we enter the season of glass hair, polished buns and frizz-free finishes, Garnier is making salon-quality sleek more accessible than ever. The new Fructis Keratin Sleek range is designed to deliver smooth, shiny, anti-frizz results at home—without the eye-watering price tag of a keratin treatment.

The four-piece lineup includes a shampoo, conditioner, mask and a hero Heat Activated Serum, all powered by a Keratin and Argan Oil Smoothing Complex to leave hair feeling softer, smoother and shinier for up to five washes. The real standout, though, is the serum. Using patented Alpha Silane technology, it creates a semi-permanent anti-frizz shield that helps lock in sleekness and high shine wash after wash.

The routine itself couldn't be simpler: shake it, heat it, sleek it. Apply the serum to damp hair, activate it with a hair dryer, then seal the deal with a straightener set to 180°C. The result? Salon-worthy smoothness from your own bathroom, no appointment required.

Head In The Clouds

Future Society Cloud Reverie Fragrance | $164

We thought we’d seen it all when it comes to fragrance inspirations and source, but Future Society’s latest drop all started with gathering actual, living microbes from clouds (!).

Yep, they translated their catch into 57 scent molecules and built an entire fragrance—Cloud Reverie—from it. Five years later, we get the joy of spritzing an airy, vanilla and iris-tinged, sparkling aquatic scent, and swanning around with smugly knowing that we’re wearing a piece of the sky.

Fit For A Princess

Flamingo Estate Prinsesstårta Milk Bar Soap | $70

You’ll never hear us keep quiet on princess tart. Be it in cake, candle, or now bar soap form. More than mere soap, Flamingo Estate’s Prinsesstårta take is a frothy, triple-milled Milk Bar

Just like the candle, the scent is a pinch gourmand, creamy and grounded in amber spice. It’s perhaps the only custard slice and marzipan canape you won’t have to clean up from.

Let It Rain

Uni Rain Water-Based Perfume | $150

It’s an aquatic fragrance, but far from salty, herby or marine-tinged. Nope, Uni’s latest, Rain Water-Based Perfume is 1) water based and 2) designed specifically to smell like rain.

Yep, the ‘Rain Notes’ are one of the actual top notes, sitting alongside grapefruit and pollen. Fresh. Then, oakmoss, lilac, peony, and patchouli kick in for a musky impression.

Sweet As Pie

LUSH Banoffee | From $18

There are zero guesses as to what LUSH’s Banoffee range smells like, but let us reassure you, its scent profile reads like an ingredients list. Buttery biscuit base, frothy cream, carmelised and ripe bananas—it’s a dead-ringer for our favourite pie.

Don’t believe us? Head to LUSH’s spiffy new flagship store in Sylvia Park for a sniff. There’s a body spray and a body wash, but, like all good sweet things, they’re here for a good time not a long time.
