Who got addicted to Agnes Bakery’s smoked potato bread in lockdown? Everybody? Same. Well you’ll have a chance to get your hands on it next weekend, because an ex-baker from the now iconic bakery, Mal Meiers, is teaming up with some other hospitality superstars for a bakery takeover at Jocelyn’s Provisions—and that potato bread will be on the menu.
Head over to Albion’s Jocelyn’s Provisions on Sunday 30 May (and only the Albion location mind—don’t turn up to the wrong one mistakenly) and you’ll find a heap of delicious baked goods on the menu, one of which might be familiar from when you lined up at 7am for Agnes.
There’ll be turmeric and pumpkin loaves, kouign amanns from Jocelyn’s Provisions own baker, Caroline Toh, next level bee stings using local honey from Bee One Third, kamut and potato Roman-style pizzas and pulled pork pies wrapped in melt-in-your-mouth puff pastry.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also snack on butter chicken sausage rolls inspired by Meiers time at Melbourne’s famed Tonka Restaurant. Basically, you don’t want to miss these baked goods, so you better get in early—we reckon they’re going to sell out fast.
Best of all, a percentage of the proceeds from the day will be going to Lifeline, so you can carb-load knowing your dollars are going to a good cause. See you there—we’ll be the ones with crumbs all down our front.
