8 Stunning Airbnb Rooms In Brisbane Where You’ll Feel Right At Home

By

Being able to easily find budget-friendly accommodation is a huge part of what makes travel possible for a lot of us, especially in a post-covid, cost-of-living-crisis landscape where so many of us are looking to travel without breaking the bank.

Airbnb’s freshly-launched "Rooms" category will make it easier to find private and low-cost rooms, with more than 80% of listings falling under $150 AUD a night. This personalised approach is all about getting back to the core of the share economy concept Airbnb was founded on; bringing people together and having awesome and authentic local experiences. From inner city apartments to restored Queenslanders, we’ve hunted down some of Brisbane best Airbnb Rooms, all hosted by super hosts (and their pets).

Laceby The Queenslander

Bardon

You know if the house has a name that it also has history. Laceby is a 1920s Queenslander sat amongst a tree-draped backdrop and renovated for modern living. Owner Julie has styled the house with pops of flamboyant colour and tasteful decor and after reading the reviews you’d be forgiven for thinking this might be her full time job. With two bedrooms, one with a queen and the other a double, it can sleep four and is perfect for business stays or for a quirkier family option. It’s close to the city and the Paddington area, so you don’t have to trek it every time you want to go somewhere. You can book a stay with Julie here.

Inner City Loft

New Farm

a stylish lounge room in an airbnb room

For a stay close to the city as well as the trendy nearby Woolloongabba, Newstead and West End suburbs, Rhys’ New Farm loft is the place to book. Rhys and his partner Bronte are certified super hosts and offer up a private bedroom and bathroom and the company of their two friendly cats, Hans and Vera, all in their own home, which also offers access to a gym and pool. Book a stay with Rhys and Bronte here.

Bardon Bed & Breakfast

Bardon

Bardon and a renovated Queenslander. Name a better duo. Well Zoe and Bruce apparently, because these super hosts and their lovely retreat in leafy Bardon is one of the most homey and comfort-inducing stays there is. Remaining close to the CBD, this Bardon home whisks you away to a country bed and breakfast. There’s Jack the cat and chickens on site, so you’ll always have company even if Zoe and Bruce aren’t around. You can book a stay here.

Boutique Apartment

Morningside

a stylish lounge room

If you need somewhere near the city that’s a little more welcoming than a hotel, look no further than Shabhina’s Morningside apartment. Shabhina has turned her spare room into an Airbnb perfect for a couple or for the solivagant. It’s also not far from the CBD, so heading in for business or some exploring is made easy. You can book a stay with Shabhina here.

Fig Tree Pocket Escape

Fig Tree Pocket

Fig Tree Pocket’s sleepy reputation precedes it. No doubt you’ll have a good sleep at Virginya’s home, but that’s about where the sleepy aspect ends. A beautifully architect-designed house, this native bush-surrounded home is an ideal stay for a couple or even for a business trip if you plan to do some exploring between work. Located not far from the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and a short walk to a bus stop that takes you directly to the city, this hidden gem of an Airbnb is available to book here.

Stylish Inner City Townhouse

Kelvin Grove

Centrally located, this townhouse is perfect for weekend stays or work trips and can host two people in the single bedroom available. The hosts, Isabelle and Tom, have a beautifully furnished house, fully equipped for your stay. It’s just 10 minutes away from the airport and two minutes from the CBD, so it’s ideally located, whatever the occasion. You can book a stay with Isabelle and Tom here.

Luxury Condo With Panoramic City Views

Spring Hill

It would obviously be ludicrous to compare Brisbane to New York city, but it’s not so far-fetched to compare Joshua’s condo and a New York condo. A slick interior featuring brown leather furniture and black highlights make the cosy condo perfect for a plush stay. Featuring panoramic views of Brisbane from the wrap around balcony and a full chef’s kitchen inside, you’ll really feel like you’re having a boujee getaway. You can book a stay with Joshua here.

Hanworth House

East Brisbane

a verandah

Another named house, Hanworth House in East Brisbane is one of the most historical homes in the city. The 155-year-old house has been redeveloped many times over the years, even burning down once, and since owner and host Marisa undertook its most recent renovation, rooms have been available as Airbnb stays. Stays here are reserved for a single person in a room, so no families or couples, but if you’re here for work or just need to stay somewhere different, this is one of the best places to do so. Hanworth House is a heritage-listed villa and boasts a tapestry of heritage, so it’s also one for the history buffs. The home can be booked for weddings and functions, but availability for Airbnb appears to be plenty, so book with Marisa here if this one strikes your fancy.
