If video games have done nothing else, they’ve taught us how fragile friendships can be when a blue shell drops onto the racetrack. After years of drifting past Bowser and staring at Vin Diesel on the big screen (Vin, if you’re reading this, call us), we’ve taken things IRL on Brisbane’s go-karting tracks.
Pack your competitive streak, leave the banana peels at home, and get ready to drift into some of the top go-karting tracks Brisbane. Ready, set, go.
Slideaways
870 Kingsford Smith Drive, Eagle Farm
Put the pedal to the metal at Slideaways in Eagle Farm. Known as Brisbane’s only two-level go-kart track, Slideaways is entirely indoors which makes it the perfect spot for rainy days. The track is specially designed to make sure you can slide and drift around, while living out your Tokyo Drift dreams. The 425m long track spans multiple levels, bridges and loops for you to rev around in a state-of-the-art European kart while your mates cheer you on from the dedicated spectator platform. There are special karts for kids here, too.
Kingston Park
20 Mudgee Street, Kingston
For go-karting loyalists, the one-and-only Kingston Park Raceway is for you. It’s a classic stalwart of the Brisbane go-karting scene for a reason: three outdoor tracks, a roster of events, and weekly competitions and races. If you want to go fast, head for their race track: it’s a 1,100m international standard circuit. Whether you stop by for a casual visit or register for their races, you’ll be riding in their brand new fleet of Sodi SR5 Race Karts (which, by the way, you can only find at Kingston Park in Queensland). Make sure you check their website before you book for the latest deals.
Game Over
88 Siganto Drive, Helensvale
Worth the trek down the highway, Game Over is a hub for all things fun in Helensvale—laser Tag, Pirate Putt, an arcade, and, of course, electric go-karting. The OLT Superleggero electric karts here deliver on instant torque and speedy acceleration for a fun few laps. Take on high speed tracks, hairpin turns, and straights where you can really unleash. Game Over has separate tracks for adults, juniors and special mini karts for kids, so there’s fun for all ages and experience here.
Big Kart Track
2310 Steve Irwin Way, Landsborough
Just beyond the bounds of Brisbane, go-kart loyalists meet on the starting line at Big Kart Track. Hit speeds of 70kph on your 270cc motor as you fly through hairpin turns, chicanes, and straights on Australia’s largest go-kart track at 1,200m. The viewing deck here even comes with BBQs, so you really can have the perfect day out here.
