If video games have done nothing else, they’ve taught us how fragile friendships can be when a blue shell drops onto the racetrack.
After years of drifting past Bowser and staring at Vin Diesel on the big screen (Vin, if you’re reading this, call us), we’ve raced through Brisbane’s go-karting tracks to break down the best of the best.
Pack your competitive streak, leave the banana peels at home, and get ready to drift into some of the top go-karting tracks Brisbane.
Ready, set, go.
Slideaways
Eagle Farm
Fam, it’s time to claim back those hours you spent bumper-to-bumper on the Riverside Expressway. Put the pedal to the metal and drift down to Slideaways, Brisbane’s own indoor go-karting behemoth. The track sprawls over multiple levels, bridges, and loops—as well as a spectating platform for your cheer squad. Ready to book? Slide into their DMs like a Formula One champ.
Xtreme Carting
Pimpama
Go-karting just had a serious glow-up. Leave the faint-hearted behind for a day at Xtreme Carting, where you’ll zip ‘round one of the longest—and fastest—go kart circuits in Australia. At 1.6km long, you’ll be zooming through straights and hairpins made famous by the annual ‘Race of Stars’.
Kingston Park
Kingston
The classic. The OG. The super catchy early-00s ad that’s still stuck in our brains. Kingston Park is a Brisbane go-karting staple for a reason, drawing newbies and members to the doors for race nights, club events and friendly comps every week. With three outdoor tracks and schmick computerised timing, you’ll be practicing your Top Gear interview in the driver’s seat.
Big Kart Track
Sunshine Coast
A ways north of Brisbane, go-kart fiends meet on the starting line of Big Kart Track. Rev those engines for speeds of up to 70km/hour as you conquer S-bends, back straights, and the infamous Big Sweeper. It’s a track that’ll keep you on your toes all race long.
Game Over
Gold Coast
Game over, Mario: Rainbow Road’s got nothing on this. At Game Over, you’ll come toe to toe with Helensvale’s state-of-the-art electric go karts. Zippier than your standard engine, these green machines come with a ‘boost’ power button that’ll have you cackling like your favourite Mario Kart racer.
Ticked off all of Brisbane’s best go-kart tracks? Time to check out the best putt putt then.
