Mark Your Calendars, A Laneway Gin Festival With All The Tastings Is Hitting Brisbane

Back in February, we shared the news that Welcome To Bowen Hills was throwing a mega laneway gin festival, and told you to lock Saturday 4 April in your diaries. Well obviously that didn't go ahead (maybe you heard whispers of a pandemic?), but when the venue announced a new date for the festival, on Saturday 19 September, tickets sold out almost instantly, leaving the rest of us gin-spondent. You can cheer up though, because the legends organising the Brisbane Gin Festival have just announced they're adding a second day, on Sunday 20 September—and you'll want to grab your tickets as soon as they go on sale.

Now taking place over two days, the Brisbane Gin Festival will be a boozy blowout that will be loaded with stalls, tastings and all the signature cocktails you could need to kickstart your weekend. Social distancing means there has been a few changes to the usual set up, with two ticked sessions now available on both days, plus a third session from 7pm until late where you can just try your luck at the door (limited to 250 people). Those ticketed sessions will set you back $15 a pop (but you get guaranteed entry), while the third session is free.

You can also expect local and international gin juggernauts to be there, and during every session you will be able to peruse the many gin stallholders, ample signature G&Ts and bespoke cocktails, chat to gin makers and feast on festival snacks.

Alongside the festival, which is also dog-friendly, these guys will stock a heap of gins at the main bar, so there's no chance stocks will run low.

Now tickets to the Sunday event are pretty limited (and Saturday is already sold out), so you might want to snap them up quick when they go on sale on Tuesday 8 September at 6pm. You can grab them and find out more about the festival here.
