Is it just us, or did Brisbane suddenly get a whole lot pinker? The colour is popping off in Brisbane lately with numerous venues sporting a vibrant shade of pink on their walls, their ceilings, their floors and most of all, all over their ‘gram. Whether millennial pink is your preferred Instagram aesthetic or you just have a new outfit that would go great with a pastel pink wall, here’s the places where wearing pink isn’t just for Wednesdays.
Turkish-inspired and blush-hued, Rose Room couldn't be any more pink if it tried. From the walls and ceilings to the rugs on the floor, the cafe-by-morning, function venue-by-afternoon-and-night is all your Instagram dreams come true, and dishes up some very pretty breakfasts to boot. Turkish delight latte and baklava pancakes, anyone?
With pastel pink walls and a mural depicting a dusky pink desert to gaze at, dining at Mama Taco will make you feel like you’ve taken a trip to Mexico—and that’s before you even take a peek at the mezcal list. You won’t find a greasy plate of nachos in sight here, instead the menu is all about authentic Mexican feeds, from soft shelled tacos to rich, spicy mole.
One of Newstead’s newest additions, Ping Pong is a modern Thai restaurant decked out with hot pink interiors, including pink walls, pink floors, pink chairs, a pink bar and pink menus— basically, you name it, and it will be pink. These guys aren’t just popular for their ‘grammability though—while it might be the decor that gets you through the door, it’s the flavoursome Thai food that will keep you coming back for seconds, thirds and fourths.
Get your stretch on at Vicalates pilates studio, a pink haven for local fitness fanatics. It’s not just the glam entryway where you’ll find plenty of pink walls and matching artwork providing the perfect background for your post-workout IG story—the studio itself features pink columns amongst the reformer beds, and after your sesh you can pamper yourself in the all pink powder room, which comes stocked with matching pink beauty products.
With plenty of sweet and savoury baked goods, not to mention a menu of epic brunches, Superthing Bakery will take you straight to Paris and rightfully so. Seated in one of their pink booths, you’ll definitely get a crick in your neck gazing up at the pink ceiling (and wondering how many cans of spray paint it took to finish), and if you’re lucky, you’ll be able to watch one of the bakers rolling out croissant pastry in the rainbow lit, glass-walled pastry room.
Settle in for a night of glamorous pink cocktails at Hello Gorgeous, one of Newstead's most renowned cocktail bars. Decorated with pink neon signs, tropical wallpapers and plush pink and rose gold seating, it’s the place to strap in to see pink, pink and nothing but pink—and you definitely won’t be the only one posing for a photo.
A fan favourite brewery on the Gold Coast, Lost Palms has recently opened in the western suburbs of Brisbane and has brought a coastal style and a whole lot of pink with them. Sit back and relax in their all pink taproom, with tropical and fruity beers to match pouring from the colourful taps behind the bar. If beer isn't your thing, you can order an espresso martini or a tropical mojito and pair it with some crispy mozzarella sticks.
