The Fox Hotel’s New Era As Hotel Terminus Officially Begins This Month
Since we first heard the news that the iconic Fox Hotel would be reborn following its three-year closure, we couldn’t be more stoked. And now it’s time time to be welcomed back into the fully transformed destination, as Hotel Terminus (the heritage-listed landmark's original name) officially opens its doors.
With hospitality heavyweights Ghanem Group (Donna Chang, Blackbird, Iris) taking over, the fate of the beloved pub was sealed by a community vote—restoring the original identity and name of the multi-level dining, events and entertainment venue. Seamlessly blending its storied past with modern design, Hotel Terminus’ upper levels have also been named by the people in late-night music lounge and cocktail bar Vixen Room and the Fox Rooftop (a nod to Hotel Terminus' most recent iteration).

Behind the restored original facade, you can choose your own adventure across the four levels. Starting on the ground floor, an all-day gastropub will cater to the lunch crowds, knock-offs and dinner seekers alike. The menu is overseen by Head Chef Lyndon Tyers (aka the culinary genius behind Donna Chang) and Group Executive Chef Jake Nicolson who will apply their expertise to elevate the usual pub offering. Think Moreton Bay bug rolls with coriander labneh and curry sauce, slow-cooked stout-braised sticky beef ribs, tandoori chicken pie with creamed leek and green peppercorn jus, and a premium steak section. There will also be a Sunday roast built around pepper-crusted prime rib, slow-glazed lamb leg and roast porchetta.
"The food at Terminus is about doing the classics properly, not reinventing them, just executing them to a level that surprises people," Tyers said.
The ground floor will also be home to a public bar with a new entrance on Fish Lane, dedicated gaming room and bottle shop.

Moving on up, Fox Rooftop offers an easygoing atmosphere with expansive views of the CBD and cultural precinct—pairing perfectly with the vibrant cocktails and international food menu. Below it will be late-night lounge Vixen Room, where you can settle in for live music and entertainment with a tipple in hand.
"Fox is vibrant and social, built for a crowd who want to socialise on the rooftop with something fresh in their glass," said Ghanem Group Hospitality's Bar and Beverage Manager, William Beverley. "Vixen is considered and plush; a room for people who want to settle in, who appreciate a properly made whiskey or crafted cocktail and aren't in a rush to leave. Together they create a journey from light to dark and I'm excited for Brisbane to discover both."
Meanwhile, the first level will house function spaces named after Hotel Terminus' original owner, architect and builder in The Addison Room, The Hayes Room and The Carrick Room.
Each floor offers a completely different experience with a distinct visual character bringing it to life. Whether you pop in for one or run the gamut, you can expect the top-notch hospitality Ghanem Group is known for throughout.

"Hotel Terminus is a revived venue that’s firmly rooted in where it came from," Ghanem Group Hospitality's Managing Director Nehme Ghanem said. "This building has been a favourite gathering spot for Brisbane since it first opened its doors in 1927. That weight of history is something we have kept front of mind throughout this project. The team has done justice to what the venue represents to this city and the entire group is incredibly proud to be the ones bringing Hotel Terminus back."
Hotel Terminus is now open.
