Putt And Ponder At This Mind-Bending Mini Golf Course Coming To Brisbane This Summer
Play, ponder and repeat at Brisbane Powerhouse’s bold new exhibition that’s set to transform the historic waterfront precinct into the wildest mini golf course you’ve ever seen. Part art show, part playground, Swingers — The Art Of Mini Golf is coming in hot early 2026 with a nine hole course that’s less about mastering your putt and more about blowing your mind.
Designed by visionary female artists from around the world, Swingers reimagines mini golf as an interactive, hands-on art experience complete with square balls, latex animal tails for clubs, candy-coloured sculptures and more. It’s absurd, fun and thought-provoking, and will be presented for the first time in Queensland from 10 January to 1 March 2026.

“Swingers perfectly embodies what I want to champion at Brisbane Powerhouse, experiences that are daring, participatory and deeply creative,” said newly appointed Brisbane Powerhouse CEO and Artistic Director, Louise Bezzina who was previously responsible for Brisbane Festival’s jaw-dropping programs. “It blurs the boundaries between play and art, offering audiences something truly unexpected. What better way to begin a new chapter than by inviting everyone to take a swing?”
Swingers was originally developed by Melbourne’s RISING Festival, and delves deep into the racial femme roots of mini golf. After all, the now quintessential first date was created by 19th century Scottish women who were banned from ‘real’ golf courses. Mini golf has always been about pushing the boundaries, but instead of windmills, Swingers invites you to play your way through a neon labyrinth turning the subversive pastime on its head.
