It’s all happening on Oxford Street right now, with the recent opening of Mexicali, a new Harris Farm Markets on the way and now, a sleek Mediterranean restaurant joining the bustling strip. Coming to us from the hospitality duo who recently took over ownership of nearby Melrose, Anna and Paul Adams,  Medé is all about modern Mediterranean cuisine in a refined but relaxed alfresco setting, and it’s got a cracking cocktail menu too. 

While the sleek sage and white interiors are very easy on the eyes, the best tables in the house are undoubtedly those outside on the footpath, where you can enjoy Bulimba’s leafy surroundings and river breeze. Start things off with a boozy stone fruit iced tea or a limoncello spritz to whet your appetite, or opt for something from the lengthy wine list that boasts a hefty selection of organic and biodynamic drops. 

On the food side, Head Chef Sam Richards (ex-Cloudland and Manly Boathouse) has curated a line up of vibrant, dynamic flavours from all across the Mediterranean. Build yourself a feast of chorizo butter baked oysters, gooey saganaki with pickled figs, harissa BBQ prawns and ricotta-stuffed courgette flowers, or go light on the small plates so you can focus on the whole baked lamb shoulder with a side of Greek potatoes.
