Yet another stunning venue from the team behind Woolloongabba’s Sasso Italiano and Casa Chow, Purple Palm is a Palm Springs-inspired gin bar and garden where you can sip cocktails under waving palms. An open-air oasis located in the centre of the buzzing South City Square precinct, the bar features a jaw-dropping 10-foot high curved wall of gin, surrounded by a smattering of white tables and chairs where you can enjoy a G&T or a creative cocktail.
Notably, every one of the gins and other spirits you’ll see lining the bar is Australian, including plenty of sips from 78 Degrees, who collaborated with the Purple Palm’s team on the opening. Even the tonic comes from Byron-based StrangeLove, so you’re guaranteed a wholly local tipple here. G&T lovers will be in heaven with a list of well thought out options on the menu, along with martinis and signature cocktails like the Golden Circle, with 78 Degrees Sunshine State Gin, fresh pineapple, passionfruit pulp, peach liqueur, pineapple leaves and dehydrated pineapple. Not a gin lover? Not to worry, they've got you covered with plenty of local tinnies and a short list of wines.
If all the drinking leaves you peckish, you can order share plates from neighbouring South City Wine or Casa Chow, or just move on to dinner at Sasso Italiano.
