It's a week for the foodies! From one-off fine dining dinners to food trucks and movies, we've got something for everyone that loves food even half as much as we do.
Wednesday 21st – Thursday 22nd
Coburg Drive In Food Truck Festival
Food trucks and films under the stars- yes please! The Coburg Drive In Food Truck Festival is back and it’s bringing the goods. With a stellar line up of each, you can expect to kick back and enjoy some of the latest movies including Burnt (helllloooo Bradley Cooper), The Martian and The Intern, while feasting on finger licken’ goodness from Smokin barry’s Flamin’ Lamb Spit, Brazilian bites and a truck load more. You can find tickets and more info here.
World Champagne Day at The InterContinental
As if we needed any more excuses to crack open the bubbly, it’s World Champagne Day this Friday! And in even better news, the InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto are celebrating with oysters and champagne. You’ll be able to kick back a the Bluestone Wine Lounge, sip on free-flowing champagne and tuck in to all the freshly shucked oysters that you can eat. Call 03 8627 1400 to book a spot.
James Henry at Builders Arms Hotel
James Henry, who was previously chef at renowned Parisienne restaurant, Bones, is joining up with the Builder's Arms Hotel team to host a one-off dinner and bar party. The menu will be centred around their common ethos of keeping things simple and crafting dishes that allow quality ingredients to reveal themselves. Over four shared courses that will most definitely see the Builders Arms Rotisserie in action, you’ll also be able to enjoy some of the chef’s favourite wines. Call 03 9417 7700 to make a reservation.
Sausage and Cider Festival
Sausages and cider are a match made in heaven, a fact that the good folk at The Last Jar are celebrating. The weather this Saturday is set to be mighty fine, so you’ll probably find us in the roof top garden at The Last jar, tucking in to perfectly matched sausages made by Tim Sweeney and boutique ciders - think Twisted Sister, Coldstream, Two Step and Harcourts. There’ll be sweet tunes provided to create the perfect mix of Irish merriment and Aussie spring barbecue. Entry is free.
Melbourne Cheese Festival
This is one that we know you’ve all been hanging out for. Hosted by the Prahran Market, the Cheese Festival is one that’s not to be missed. An extravaganza of fancy fromage, the festival is set to include free tastings, cooking demonstrations, cheesy pop-ups, live music and, drumroll… a cheese wheeling race! You’ll be able to enjoy all this delicious fun from 10am this Saturday at the Prahran Market.
Don't forget to check back in on Thursday for all the best things to do this weekend.
