Best Farm Stays For Couples In Victoria
Halls Gap | Sleeps 2
Handcrafted Shack
There are Victorian tiny homes and then there's the teeny, tiny and terrific Handcrafted Shack that’s possibly the cutest farm stay we’ve ever seen. This is one for the nature-lovers, and boy does it deliver.
Your accommodation is built from recycled materials and has some serious windows that give panoramic views over the owners’ regenerative farm to the mountains in the distance. We suggest a cheeky lie-in in your bed nook with a cuppa while taking in that view (and we reckon you’ll see a roo or two).
Inside you can get all snuggly thanks to the charming, black wood heater. Pad outside to your private hand hewn red gum deck and you’ll find an outdoor bath for soaking in, plus an outdoor shower for a wash down with wow factor. Don’t forget to bring those hiking shoes, because walks in the Grampians National Park are a mere ten-minute toddle away—and you’ve got a coffee shop, local brewery and eateries at Halls Gap within strolling distance too. Phew!

Just enough rustic enough (oh, hello glamping kitchen) while still retaining those modern comforts, this off-grid, fully restored shearer’s hut rests on 160 rolling acres of Mansfield countryside. We love how the hosts allow you to pick herbs from the garden and will even supply their own produce, depending on what’s in season. There’s a roaring inside fireplace to cosy up around and a fire pit outside for starry nights, so you'll be toasty whatever you do.

Inside the farmhouse you’ll find cosy linens, a leather couch and a wood-burning fireplace to get crackling on cooler nights. There’s an honesty bar if a spot of sipping calls, plus the property’s own cellar door is open from noon on weekends, so a visit there is a must.
