Pasta Legends Tipo 00 Are Bringing Us A New Restaurant—But This One Is Different

The crew that brought us Tipo 00 are back at it again with their fifth restaurant, but this one is noticeably different—it’s not Italian.

The Conferre Group, with Osteria Ilaria, Figlia and Grana under their belt were on to a winning formula, but Harriot, a light-filled, airy and ethereal venue looks to be much more modern European.

Yes, there’s white tablecloths and head chef James Kelly comes with Michelin star credentials (and Embla too, nice), and it will feel like a bistro, but the offering will be tempered with Melbourne sensibility and Victorian produce.

We’re looking at an ever-changing seasonal menu with produce sourced from Ramarro and Day’s Walk Farms we’ll be tucking into spanner crab ravioli with pumpkin bisque, Sher wagyu, pigs head and parsley terrine served with kohlrabi and Great Ocean duck.

Wine-wise, the list has been carefully curated over the past two years by somm Justin Howe and will lean new-world Australian but with some curious small European producers.

Find Harriot at 555 Collins Street, Melbourne CBD by Charter Hall. The restaurant is set to open 30 June and will be serving lunch Monday-Friday, 12pm-3pm, and dinner Monday-Saturday, 5pm-late.  Reserve your table here.
