On-the-move eatery NAMA is taking over Leonardo’s Pizza Palace for an all-day dining party on Sunday 21 March.
NAMA will bring a modern-Japanese twist to traditional Italian dishes—think XO Arancini with red bean mayo and San Choy Bow Calzones. A range of bar snacks and pizza will be available from 3pm until late, followed by a set dinner menu which includes Yuzu Pepper Spatchcock with pickled radish, a Cacio e Pepe Udon with tobiko, and a Charred Caesar with furikake and onsen egg, all prepared by the NAMA team.
For those of you who haven’t heard of NAMA, it's the touring hospitality brainchild of Aussie chefs Geoff Marett and Caelan O’Rourke. With their passion for modern japanese cuisine and years of culinary experience across Australia and around the world (the duo met working in Michelin starred yakitori restaurant Yardbird in Hong Kong), Marett, O’Rourke and their good mate and chef Raph Hyams serve up Japanese inspired dishes at pop-ups across Melbourne, with their latest takeover set for Leonardo’s in Carlton.
As well as the five-course set menu on offer for $65 per person, NAMA and Leonardo’s have worked together to curate an exclusive cocktail list for the day (look out for the Whisky and Mazake Sour), using Japanese liqueurs and products courtesy of Sunday’s Spirits. For an extra $75 per person, NAMA will pair matching drinks with your set menu, and a vegetarian option will also be available.
DJs will bring the vibes all day and continue well into the evening, so all that’s left for you to do is book your sitting at Leonardo’s and let NAMA take care of the rest.
