Capitalising on Victoria's reputation as the spa capital of Australia—and Melburnians' love for a hot dunk—Queensland institution Soak Bathhouse is opening in South Yarra in April.
Tucked behind Chapel Street and close to the Yarra River at 10 River Street, the 700sq m (that’s three-ish times the size of most sharehouses) bathhouse will be located in the new $100m Alfasi Development, designed by award-winning Carr Architects.
Soak Bathhouse owners Alexis and Niki Dean said Soak Bathhouse South Yarra will offer something never before seen in Melbourne.
"The South Yarra iteration will be a fusion of urban convenience and natural serenity," Mrs Dean said.
"With large mineral pools, a dry cedarwood sauna, a steam room and a cold plunge, all nestled among leafy greenery."
“There is so much demand in Melbourne for what we offer and as a busy bathhouse it’s so inspiring to see so many guests passionately seeking ways to look after their bodies and minds.”
Sessions at the northern outlets start from $35 for a 60-minute session, up to $79 for a 90-minute session, including two alcoholic, or non-alcoholic beverages (can verify, the prosecco tins are delicious). You can also grab club memberships for $99 a year which includes a Soak sessin, a private infrared sauna or LED facial, bithday rewards and discounts on bundle packs.
Soak South Yarra will be the fourth Soak Bathhouse location in Australia, joining Mermaid Beach and West End in Queensland, and the soon to open Bondi in Sydney.
