Wait, what? It’s the last week of September? Roll on the warmer months, we say! And, in
true Auckland style, the City of Sails continues to dish up fabulous things to do. So, make the
most of your working week with these five things to do in Auckland.
Auckland Live International Cabaret Season
Dial up the glitz and the glamour as Auckland Live unleashes a suite of international and
local cabaret provocateurs and cultural icons across the city during the International Cabaret
Season. It’s gettin’ hot in Auckland City, as the Town Hall, Basement Theatre and Q Theatre
get poised for non-stop scandal from the disco divas, glamour animals and red-hot rock opera
stars. Fall head over heels and go a little bit wild during this steamy eighteen days of fun!
Monday 25 September
Forget the Monday Blues and treat yourself to a meal out this week. While many eateries
are closed on this often depressing night, some of Auckland’s absolute best restaurants
throw open their doors with their delectable delights, turning your new week frown upside
down! Here’s our round up of where to eat on a Monday night in Auckland.
Tuesday 26 September
Hawkes Bay Wine Celebration
Savour a night of Hawkes Bay wine celebrations without stepping foot outside of Auckland.
Hawkes Bay comes to you at the Hawkes Bay Wine Celebration for one night only,
presenting more than 200 (!!) of their finest wines from one of the country’s most-loved wine
regions. Meet the talented winemakers and wine experts and wax lyrical about everything
from tasting tips and upcoming vintages. Wineries include Alpha Domus, Mission Estate,
Paritua Wines, Stonecroft Wines, Villa Maria Estate and so many more.
Thursday 28 September
Urban Street Food Festival
It seems street food is the theme of the week (heck, of the year!) and this Thursday it’s all
about the Shore. The Milford Shopping Centre car park will transform itself into a foodie
haven with your fave food trucks, entertainment, and even twinkling fairy lights to really get
the vibe going. The Roaming Kitchen will be serving up eats from food trucks like The
Rolling Pin, Double Dutch Fries, and Temaki Truck. Just make sure you save room for
dessert, because Lalele Organic Gelato will be there to send you into a food coma of the good
kind. With awesome street food vendors all in one place, free admission and live music, the
Urban Street Fest will have you rocking your way into the weekend.
Friday 29 September
Te Atatu Night Markets
Aucklanders, take a collective sigh of relief because one of your favourite markets is back
after a winter hiatus! That’s right, the Te Atatu Night Market returns this week, with the
food trucks you’ve come to know and love—Judge Bao, Wiseboys, Che Lucio, Mister Gelato,
Pork n Beans and House of Dumplings—to name a few. And…a little birdy has told us that
this week at the Te Atatu Night Markets a new vegan food truck will launch. We can’t wait!
