Tucked away on Fanshawe street is Rebel Rebel, a small but mighty modern eatery worth a visit.
Taking over the space which once housed Rockerfeller, Rebel Rebel features an exposed industrial interior and a natural stone countertop of sprawling pastries and neon hues. Having also brought us the wildly popular Baguette & Co. owner Olga Diez Roman's new spot focuses on showcasing flavours from her Spanish heritage in a relaxed hip environment.
If you’re like us and enjoy a bit of variety on your table, Rebel Rebel’s all-day brunch menu has you covered featuring small dishes for those who want a little bit of everything. Head chef Marco Conigliaro's offerings feature brunch staples and hints of his Sicilian roots throughout.
Our top pick is the Swedish meatballs with crostini. Succulent and juicy, these melt-in-your-mouth morsels are perfectly complimented by the crunchy crostini. We recommend pairing these with a raw broccoli caesar salad.
One of Olga’s favourites are the Spanish croquetas. Packed with indulgent creamy parmesan and mushrooms, the fried pocket is served with wicked truffle oil that will send your tastebuds into overdrive. Heaven.
The slow roast lamb is also worth a mention. Sprinkled with macadamia crumbs and served atop Sicilian caponata, the lamb is tender and melts in your mouth with every bite.
In need of a little pick me up after a big night out? Look no further than the moreish sliders. Packed with bacon and scrambled eggs, they’ll have you feeling sunny side up in no time. While you’re at it, give the honey-coated granola a try. Packed with greek yoghurt and rhubarb raspberry compote, there’s no better way to start your day.
On the go? Grab a coffee and one of their fresh French pastries or sandwiches to go. They’re as good as they look.
The next time you need a break from your day-to-day do yourself a favour and check out Rebel Rebel, a one-stop shop for a variety of deliciousness.
