The iconic Nike Blazer never ceases to be a source of podiatry inspiration for people far cooler than me. I, of course, have a couple of pairs but I do not wear them with any sort of ironic swagger nor do I have that uncanny ability to make a sneaker look chic when paired with a suit pant. And yet I persist…
What with the influx of nostalgic athleisurewear trends resurfacing for round two in the style stakes, it would be crazy not to give this iconic vintage track runner a second innings.
The Blazer has once again been reinvented; this time by the holy grail of the fashion world, Virgil Abloh.
Off White founder, director of Louis Vuitton and creative director for Kayne West, Virgil Abloh’s been a busy boy heading up Paris Fashion Week and making headlines for the reinvigoration of the luxury LV brand. He is also no stranger to a sneaker collab, recently showcasing his striking designs for Nike Air Prestos earlier in the year.
Aptly named, The Spooky Pack, this latest sneaker collab will drop just in time for Halloween and comes in just two colours: the ‘All Hallow’s Eve’ and ‘Grim Reaper’. Spooky.
Featuring Abloh’s signature text along the inner seam and contrasting zip-tie embellishment, the humble Nike Blazer is all of a sudden no so…
Both styles are paired with Nike’s flymesh panelling, fluro orange laces to match the fetching swoosh on the ‘All Hallow’s Eve’, and all black errythang on the ‘Grim Reaper’—no surprises there.
The Spooky Pack range is said to be dropping globally September 15 and September 21, respectively, at a very resonable price of $130 USD.
