Rhythm And Vines Is Shaping Up To Be The Healthiest New Year’s Eve On Record

By

A woman in a purple crop top and jean mini skirt sticks her tongue out happily.

A rite of passage for many, we’ve got a tonne of descriptors for Gisbone’s Rhythm & Vines festival—namely, good vibes, good tunes and good company. This year we’re adding ‘healthy’ to that list (and we’re as surprised about it as you are).

Enter: the Red Bull Shred Shed.

From 29-31 December, revellers will be able to get their sweat on with rolling 60-minute cardio and weights sessions at a dope pop-up gym near Waihokia and the Gardens stage led by Amber and Willis Alatini, co-owners of popular Tāmaki gym, The Cobalt Club.

The sessions will kick off at 8am and run through to 3pm with space for up to 30 participants at any one time and three movement styles to choose from. Got energy to burn? Jump into their HIIT Circuit. Keen to work with a mate? Their YGIG Partnered short intervals circuit is for you. The last style is half weighted (using dumbbells) and half bodyweight for that sweet balance of calisthencis and strength-building.

Post-sweat sesh participants can cool off in ice baths (in a salute to 2024 being the rise of contrast therapy) before switching to party mode.
