This isn’t simply a place to go grab a coffee or have a bite to eat. Tucked away in Westmoreland Street West in Grey Lynn, Ozone Coffee is an experience. 

It seems us Aucklanders can't get enough of Kyle Street and Jordan MacDonald's particular brand of fast food, with the boys opening their second Lowbrow. branch just a couple of kilometres up the road from their flagship eatery in Queen's Rise. Yip, this time round they've swapped the suits for sneakers, joining the ranks of other great eateries like Bestie and Gemmayze Street inside the funky St Kevin's Arcade on K' Road.

Hēmi is the latest addition to the lineup of delicious eateries owned by the Miller family. Alongside Mint Kitchen Catering and Thinkfood, which challenges the way you think about nutrition by creating meal plans made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Hēmi is no different, in fact the new eatery's menu is designed with allergies and dietary requirements in mind—with capable head chef James Miller producing delicious creations in the kitchen. 

Just when you thought the fitness scene in Auckland couldn’t get any better, new kid on the block Playground Fitness is taking it up a notch by putting the fun back into fitness. European haven ELMO'S has opened its door (a funky red door to be precise) on Ponsonby’s strip. Taking over what was once Mr Toms, the quirky pizza bar is bringing a splash of European razzle-dazzle to Ponsonby. 

Seaside bars (actually, bars in general) don't get much better than this. Now focused on large group bookings, corporate meetings and private events. Nestled close to Auckland's stunning Viaduct Harbour, VYC combines sophisticated, Hamptons-style vibes with a carefully-curated drinks list and mouthwatering, South American-inspired cuisine. 

Dumplings... need we say any more! The juicy little morsels are no doubt a favourite amongst Aucklander’s and as the dumpling scene grows, so do our appetites. One dumpling joint that is certainly whetting our appetite is Bo’s Dumplings. 

If you’re wanting to treat your pearly whites to a little bit of luxury, look no further than boutique whitening studio The Whitening Co. Situated along Mount Eden Road, New Zealand’s first dedicated whitening premises offers a unique and premium experience that will leave you grinning from ear to ear. 

Possibly one of Queen Street's best kept secrets, the entrance to Kura is accessed through a sliding Japanese door and a steep flight of steps which will take you down below Queen Street. You'll step into a buzzing Japanese den and glimpse incredible dishes coming out of the busy kitchen.

Hidden behind a secret door lies the coolest little speakeasy on K road, Sly. Pull up a pew and order some delicious top shelf cocktails at great prices and loaded hot dogs of every description. Tucked away in the centre of Newmarket lies a little powerhouse with a big heart. Studio Box is quickly gaining a cult following amongst those who want the benefits of a high energy boxing session without the ‘bouts and the brawn’. The brainchild of former Black Sticks Star Dwayne Rowsell, the purpose-built space has been designed to help you get the most out of your work out without distractions. Guided through 10 rounds one-on-one with your water-filled bag by an impossibly fit boxing coach with dim lighting, a pumping sound system and choreographed moves, you’ll be motivated to keep on your toes for the 45-minute session.

North Shore residents, listen up—there's a new kid on the café block, and we'd like to introduce you. She's charming, isn't afraid to have fun and most importantly, knows her way around food. Her name is Patch.

Found on Ponsonby Road, Clipper is a friendly neighbourhood bar serving some of the best cocktails in town. Amongst soft pink hues, greenery and neon lights the space serves as an escape from the mundane to the fantastic through a well-crafted cocktail list and delectable small plates.  Unforgettable and utterly delicious, a must-try is the award-winning Pan Am cocktail. 

Something good is brewing down at Wynyard Quarter, and we think you're going to like it. Good George, the award-winning Hamiton brewery with a knack for crafting amazing beers and ciders, has opened the doors to its eleventh and arguably most epic outpost yet in an enviable position on the edge of North Wharf.

Tucked away in Browns Bay is A-Block, a must-try café serving up breakfast favourites with a hot cup of their signature in-house roasted coffee blend. Our pick for a memorable brunch dish goes to the Not So Frenchie, an out of the ordinary French toast. Double-baked bread and butter pudding is soaked overnight, coated in oats and deep fried. If that’s not enough, they plate it up on a pile of Oreo crumble with poached rhubarb. It’s adorned with a whole poached pear (covered in sliced almonds) and premium vanilla Kapati ice cream. Loosen your belts. 

Dirty Laundry is an eclectic bar and eatery serving up nothing but good times on Quay Street. Situated Downtown, the bar is the latest watering hole from Good Group—the team behind White + Wongs and Botswana Butchery—and it’s turning heads for all the right reasons.

Boutique brews, bites and an onsite barber—Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen has you covered for all your foodie and furry needs.

The Alex, nestled right next to the race track at Alexandra Park will give you a straight up hearty feed whilst giving you a birds eye view on all the action on the track. You might even be tempted to lay a bet or two but don't forget to quit while you're ahead.

The Culprit boys are at it again, this time opening an elegant little bar directly across the road from their Wyndham Street flagship.

Situated just off Ponsonby Road and brewing only from organic leaves from teas from trusted sources around the world, believe us when we say these kombuchas taste absolutely pure and fresh. With regular blends on tap including Indian Assam Tea, Gunpowder green tea and (our fave) Kenyan purple tea you can grab a glass of your choice or go for a flight and sample all 4, including the guest brew for just $7. Bring your booch bottle back clean and ready for refilling and get your next bottle for $10.

This Asian fusion eatery tucked away in Smales Farm is definitely a must-try. Grab yourself one or a handful of Kai Eatery’s signature XL chicken with your choice of seasonings, if you need any. You’ll understand what the fuss is all about after taking that first bite.

A step away from main street Parnell, you’ll find Nem Parnell. It's a charming escape into Vietnamese cuisine that’s sure to have you coming back for round two. From the mouth-watering dancing beef cheek to the eggplant pate you’ll find yourself spoilt for choice with an expansive menu, and that’s not even to mention their range of signature cocktails.

Synonymous with seriously good and healthy foods, the amazing deli that is Jess' Underground Kitchen is now on Parnell turf where it's dishing out all the feel-good foods we know and love. It's the perfect place to pop by if you're in need of a healthy, hearty and homely meal or snack with their stellar range of breads, sammies, salads and frozen foods ready for you to grab on the go.

Found on Davis Crescent, Khao San serves up Thai fare with a modern twist. Head here for flavoursome tapas or and share plates. Don’t miss the rich Massaman lamb curry, which is hearty and warming—perfect for cool days. Or, opt for a huge serving seafood drunken noodles with a spicy kick. While you're at it, give one of their cocktail creations a try, we recommend the Meow Meow Choco.

Just Like Martha is an epic cafe serving classics with a modern twist. Found under the Obsidian apartments on Mt Eden Road, this spot is a brunch lover's dream come true. For those with a sweet tooth, look no further than the ultra-grammable French Toast. Or, opt for the epic double buttermilk, fried chicken burger served on a bed of french fries. On the go? If the words bold and beautiful were ever used to describe a café, that café would be Harlan Pepper Food Co. Situated in the hip Kingsland foodie scene, get ready for Instagrammable dishes that will have you saying, “it’s too pretty to eat.”

Found in Victoria Park Market, Captain Crêpes will take you to the streets of Paris with just one bite. Don't miss the Hispaniola, packed with nutella, banana and coconut, it's the ultimate sweet treat. Or opt for a savoury gallette, the Demeter features tomatoes, egg, provolone cheese and mixed her all rapped up in a crispy buckwheat shell—perfect for those on the go.

Found on Saint Marks Road, Snö is nothing short of legendary. From the team behind Dear Jervois, the menu boasts classics done right with a Scandinavian touch. Our top picks include the Swedish blueberry waffles, loaded with fresh fruit and nuts, and the vegan-friendly roasted aubergine served on Innocent loaf. For those on the go, look no further than their house-made muffins—before they sell out that is. Light, bright and utterly delicious, Snö is a must-visit. 

Duck Island's Auckland store is all sorts of delicious. Found on Ponsonby Road, they're serving up scoops of whacky and wonderful ice cream creations, unlike anything you've ever tasted. Think white chocolate and miso, cinnamon and chilli, blueberry sweetcorn and peanut butter caramel cookie. While you're at it, give their ice cream sandwiches and tacos a try, you won't regret it.

Found on Dominion Road, General Kai serves authentic pan-Asian cuisine done right. From noodles, dumplings and pancakes, to sizzling meats and fried chicken there’s a little something for everyone on the menu. Wash it all down with a bubble tea, wine or beer from their extensive drinks list. 

Rosebank Coffee & Kitchen is showing Aucklanders it deserves the top spot on your must-visit café list. Cue mouth-watering French toast, charcoal lattes and doughnut towers—we’re sold.

There’s a little something for everyone at Fitzroy Lounge Bar. Found on Mackelvie Street, the small and eclectic space is not one to miss. Featuring murals, bold prints and some of the best vibes in town this versatile spot has it all. Whether you’re in for an epic oozing toastie, or gin sour, which features gin, Aperol, dry vermouth, pomegranate and mint. You won’t regret paying Fitzroy Lounge Bar a visit.

From the team behind Mt. Eden's popular Rad Cafe, is Mr. T’s. This Onehunga cafe-slash-bakery is a fusion of Vietnamese and Western cuisine. The menu features chocolate chip French toast, Bánh Mí Xíu Mai (Vietnamese meatballs), and a wicked smashed avo. If you don't have time to sit and eat, take some of the delicious bites home from the bakery—we recommend Mr. T’s infamous sourdough. With recipes perfected over years of trial and error, their loaves won’t disappoint.
