5 Epic Takeaway Eats To Smash This Week

By Alice Dolphin

Food, glorious food—there’s no debating it’s definitely one of our greatest joys in life. And while we can’t actually go and dine in at our fave restaurants this week, we can still have an absolute feast with our fellow lockdown fam. There are so many great spots doing us good by opening their doors and serving tasty takeaways all week (check out the full list here), but these special few were just too good to pass up.

So without further ado, here are five of the most epic takeaway eats to smash in lockdown this week.

Long Chim

Perth City

For this week only, Long Chim—one of Perth’s best Thai restaurants—is bringing finely tuned Bangkok street food-inspired dishes right to your doorstep. In the takeaway menu, we’re talking individual signature dishes with a kick of heat all the way to full-blown feasts for up to four people. Crispy veggie spring rolls followed by duck fried rice, chicken jungle curry and green papaya salad (with chilli, of course) would be our go to. Don’t forget to try the infamous Chiang Mai Larb—just prepare your tastebuds for some major spice.

If you can’t decide on what to get, don’t stress. Long Chim also offers a curated collection of the chef’s choice of dishes so you won’t be left disappointed (or hungry for that matter). Deliveries are available every day until Thursday 4 February, from 5pm ‘til 9pm. Last orders taken at 8.30pm. You can see the full takeaway menu and place your order here

Garum

Perth City

Let us introduce you to the bellissimi takeaway menu from gorgeous Garum, appropriately named Garum A Casa. Their quaint takeaway hampers consist of a range of signature pastas which are all super easy to whip up within minutes at home. Choose from drool-worthy dishes like their pappardelle with black pepper and oxtail ragu, gnocchi al pomodoro, or the tortelli duck with Swiss mushrooms and sage. To make a perfectly matched meal, you can even chuck on a bottle of wine from Voyager Estate, a loaf of sourdough, and a dreamy tiramisu. Garum A Casa packs are available to order 7 days a week, and you can get one here.

If you prefer to graze, it’s also worth noting you can order one of their Garum Grazing Hampers for two people which comes complete with scrumptious bites like supplì (that’s Roman arancini for those playing at home), octopus, marinated olives, sourdough bread, tris salumi and grissini, dips, a selection of cheeses, and SO much more. They’ll need 24 hours notice on this one, so place your order here.

Drasko’s Hot Chicken

Mount Hawthorn

Can’t live without fried chicken? Neither can we. So thank goodness for new kids on the chicken block, Drasko’s Hot Chicken—they’ve got takeaway and delivery in the works, starting Wednesday 3 February and considering there’s normally giant lines out the door, this might actually be your best shot at giving it a go. They’ll only be running a reduced menu (sorry, no wings or tenders) but don’t worry, you can still wrap your hands around one of their epic signature sandos which is also available gluten free. They’ll be releasing more info soon so keep an eye out here.

Odyssea

City Beach

With summery delights that hit just right, Odyssea has been a long-time fave for weekend feasts with mates. So when we heard they were jumping on the takeaway train, we had to give it a shout. On the simplified menu you can order popular share plates like their Korean fried cauliflower, crispy fried potatoes with porcini salt and cured salmon with tarragon butter as well as main meals like the Tasmanian salmon with nori crust and a seriously melt-in-your-mouth slow cooked lamb. Oh and did we mention they’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Yep, get your Odyssea fix here whenever it hits.

Lions And Tigers

Fremantle

Serving stacks of rich and flavoursome Indian delights, Lions And Tigers serve the kind of food that leaves you smiling inside and out. And to ensure you’re smiling all the way through lockdown, they’ve put together a take out menu with all the goods—whether you’re after aromatic curry, roti tacos, a very special fried chicken burger or a gooey sticky date pudding, you’ll find it all here. Peruse the extensive menu and indulge in these goodies from 5pm every day this week.
