So, Is A Freo Premiership Parade Actually Happening?

The short answer? We essentially know nothing.

At the time of writing, no official plans for a Fremantle Dockers premiership parade or homecoming have been announced. Understandably, everyone in Perth seems to be holding their breath far too tightly to speak of the unspeakable before the final siren.

But if (when) iit happens, there are a few obvious spots where Freo’s long-awaited celebrations could unfold.

Fremantle’s Cappuccino Strip

The obvious choice has to be the heart of Fremantle itself.

More than 40,000 fans are expected to descend on the port city for Saturday’s 12.30pm bounce down. If the result goes our way, we can only imagine that sea of purple returning—and multiplying—for the ultimate hometown celebration. The City of Fremantle is now very well-versed in managing major crowds, while every pub, cafe and small business along the strip would be buzzing to catch another piece of history.

Picture packed balconies, purple smoke and the boys making their way through the city that loves them most. If there’s a traditional street parade, this feels like the natural home for it in our books.

Through The Perth CBD

Another possibility is a full-scale parade through the Perth CBD, with key city arteries potentially closed to traffic to make way for the purple army.

While it might not have quite the same hometown sentimentality as Fremantle, the CBD would offer a more central and accessible option. Fans could travel in from all corners of Perth using multiple train and bus routes, rather than placing the full weight of the purple army on one very overwhelmed Fremantle line.

The city’s wider streets would also lend themselves nicely to a proper open-top parade, potentially finishing at Forrest Place or Elizabeth Quay for speeches and celebrations.

For a more controlled option, the Dockers could host a celebration at their Cockburn ARC training ground—or bring it back to the club’s historic heartland at Fremantle Oval.
