Like most of us, I spend most days glued to a screen of some sort. Whether it be scrolling endlessly on social media (guilty), working away on my laptop or chilling out with good ol’ Netflix, it seems almost impossible to escape it these days. So when I got the chance to go off grid and recharge at one of Heyscape’s most beautiful tiny homes, I didn’t think twice.
This was my first time staying in one of these eco cabins, and can safely say Heyscape has truly nailed the experience. I’d say it feels kinda like camping, minus all the annoying parts.
After packing our bags and driving less than an hour from Perth, we arrived at Lauren—one of Heyscape's luxe tiny homes in Chittering, located on the grounds of Nesci Estates Wine Farm. I was instantly blown away by how gorgeous she was. Outside, there’s a wrap-around deck complete with its own outdoor tub, barbecue and dining area that looks out onto fields that truly glow come golden hour. While inside you’ve got all the modern comforts and then some (see: wine fridge) you could need in a very snazzy, well-designed package.
If you feel like heading out, the winery serves up wine tastings, woodfired pizzas and live music on weekends, plus Bindoon Bakehouse is not far away if you’re craving a good coffee and life-changing vanilla slice. But if you’re keen to make the most of the peace and quiet, I’d suggest packing some food and staying in.
We spent the afternoon grazing away on a beaut little cheese platter, sipping wines on the deck and heading off on bushwalks to explore the grounds. When the sun dipped, we fired up the barbecue and soaked up the stars before soaking ourselves in the outdoor tub. Come bedtime, we slid peacefully into the comfy king bed before waking up to the most amazing sunrise out of the magical floor-to-ceiling picture window.
The next day followed suit, and without the usual digital distractions, it was much easier to actually connect with each other (surprise, surprise). By the time we had to leave, we both felt so relaxed we basically floated out. I can see why these off-grid experiences have become so popular.
If you’re keen to give one a go, Heyscape has a bunch of tiny homes located in some of WA’s most serene destinations, including four bed family stays, dog-friendly homes and two brand new luxe cabins launching this month. Head to the website and get booking.
