The Pen

1 Marco Polo Dr, Mandurah WA 6210

If you're chasing laidback waterfront vibes with a side of good tunes and top-tier pub fare, The Pen is a no-brainer. Perched right on the shorefront, this long-time local fave nails that sweet spot between casual dining and elevated classics. Kick things off with a cocktail and local burrata served alongside charred greens, herbed butter and crusty ciabatta before moving on to a seafood feast of Shark Bay crab spaghettini or crispy skinned barramundi. If meat’s more your style, go all in with the shared braised lamb shoulder or half kilo grass fed scotch fillet with sherry mushrooms, onion cream, crispy shallots and a red wine jus.

There’s live music every weekend and games shown on the big screen with the option to order straight from your phone so you don’t miss a moment of the action. The bonus? You can stroll upstairs to The Sebel when it’s time to call it a night.

Boundary Island Brewing

21 Marina Quay Dr, Erskine WA 6210

Dreamt up by two Mandurah families over a few cold beers, Boundary Island has quickly become an icon thanks to its award-winning craft beer brewed on site, holiday-esque estuary views and weekend live music.

In true Mandurah style, you can roll in by boat or stroll in by foot (with furry friends in tow), then settle in for a session that’s equal parts chilled and delicious.

There’s a mammoth menu with stacks of starters to share, woodfires pizzas and fresh seafood catches. On the weekend, the team fire up the Texan woodfired meat smoker with weekly specials and smokin’ boards to get stuck into and on the Winter menu, we’d go for the smoked ragu rigatoni with house smoked falling off the bone beef rib and tomato fennel sugo as well as the herb crusted Amelia Park lamb rack with chat potatoes, brussels and harissa chimichurri.

Of course, the beer’s the real MVP—brewed just metres from where you sit, sip, and soak it all in.

Bob Jo

This buzzing Korean hotspot has to be one of Mandurah’s worst kept secrets with some of the zestiest comfort food going round. Make the most of the casual vibes and snag a spot under the market umbrellas while you soak up the alfresco energy with an ice-cold Cass or Terra beer in hand before perusing the menu to try and figure out how much you can fit in.

Sharing’s always a good idea and there’s no way you can skip the golden fried chicken wings doused in house BBQ or cheese sauce plus a heap of extra seasonings and sides on offer. The crispy-edged kimchi pancake or Korean korn dog are both worthy contenders.

Then it’s time to get around the beef bulgogi stew—a rich, soul-warming hot pot packed with marinated beef, mushrooms, glass noodles and veg, all bubbling away in a deeply savoury broth and served with rice and traditional sides.

Hoodburger

Mandurah Forum, Shop R-005/330 Pinjarra Rd, Mandurah WA 6210

Is there anyone in the world that doesn’t love a good burger? We think not. Hoodburger seriously delivers the goods with its juicy American smashburgers and wild flavour combos to choose from. I’m an absolute sucker for a tasty cheeseburger and fries and they really do hit this one out of the park, but please—do yourself a favour and order the gravy to go with—dunking that bad boy along with handfuls of fries is the ultimate act of joy.

If you’re willing to try something a bit more adventurous (trust me, I wish I would), I’d go for the tender mash and gravy—yep, within the bun, or the golden curry sandwich. I also love washing it all down with a Jarritos Mexican cola. Drooling yet?

Brewvino

41 Ormsby Terrace, Mandurah WA 6210

Right in the heart of town, Brewvino is the kind of place that lands somewhere between steakhouse and modern coastal bar—and word is, they serve up some of the best steaks in Mandurah. The menu is packed with flavour and tough decisions including a heap of share plates to start featuring local seafood options like Mandurah blue manna crab arancini, pickled octopus, creamy garlic WA prawns and chilli mussels.

For an epic feed, order one (or more) of the large shares like the legendary 12-hour slow-cooked lamb shoulder served with pork fat potatoes, roast pumpkin, broccolini garlic yoghurt and lamb jus. And don’t forget dessert. The sticky date pudding drizzled in butterscotch sauce is a clear winner or for a little post-dinner pick-me-up, go the affogato with a splash of liqueur.

Behind the bar, there’s a rotating, considered lineup of local craft brews, old faithfuls on tap, and a wine and spirits list that celebrates small and sustainable WA producers.

There’s happy hour from 4.30pm to 5.30pm Wednesday to Sunday, and $12 cocktails from 8.30pm Friday and Saturday—so don’t be surprised if your “quick drink” turns into the whole evening.

Flics Kitchen

3/16 Mandurah Terrace, Mandurah WA 6210

This beautiful waterside restaurant is a well-loved classic that delivers big on flavour, seasonality and style. The ever-evolving menu champions modern share plates, so bring your appetite and settle in for a flavour-packed feast.

Kick things off with small plates like Western rock lobster and prawn on brioche with avocado crème, crispy zucchini flowers stuffed with goat’s cheese, or fire-roasted quail paired with blood plum and witlof. From there, move onto the twice-cooked pork belly with celeriac and apple or dive into the house-made ricotta gnocchi with wild mushrooms, truffle and pecorino. Honestly, just order one of everything and thank us later.

If you’re after a long lunch and a weekend treat, the $65 bottomless lunch includes one hour of free-flowing prosecco, lager or non-alcoholic options plus six of their most-loved dishes (yes, dessert is included).

Wood and Stone Café

2/38 Mandurah Terrace, Mandurah WA 6210

Boasting the best brunch in town (and a few awards to back it up), Wood & Stone Café is a family-run abode perched along the Mandurah foreshore. With six generations of local history behind them, the team is passionate about showcasing the best of the Mandurah and Peel region—through quality food, boutique coffee, and a killer drinks list that includes six rotating craft beers, cocktails and wine.

It’s the kind of place where you’ll want to linger longer—ideally with a sun-soaked cocktail in hand and the 12-hour chipotle beef brisket on your plate. Or go for a dinner spread of tapas-style bites like scallops with chilli butter and black sea salt, popcorn cauliflower, and gooey baked camembert.

And if you wake up in the mood for something naughty, we’re oh-so-happy they’ve jumped on the pistachio trend. The French toast is outrageously good—smothered with pistachio cream and Biscoff, a miso caramel, ice cream and generous Biscoff crumb, it’s the stuff of brunch dreams.

There’s a kids menu too, so little foodies are well looked after while you ease into holiday mode.

Saigon Silver Sands

116A Anstruther Rd, Mandurah WA 6210

Don’t be fooled by the unassuming exterior—this casual Vietnamese is an absolute gem, and once you’ve tucked into a few dishes, you’ll get what all the fuss is about. Bold, fresh flavours are what you can expect along with generous portions served up in a no-fuss space that’s always buzzing with happy regulars.

If you haven’t tried (or like me, just love) a Vietnamese coffee and can cope with a decent level of caffeine later in the day, starting or ending with this is non-negotiable. The iced kind is my favourite with sweetened condensed milk, tonnes of ice and freshly brewed coffee. Even if you know it will keep you awake, it’s honestly worth it.

Order the classic spring rolls (fried or fresh—you can’t go wrong) and the pan-fried Vietnamese pancake, perfect for tearing and sharing with your hungry crowd alongside salt and pepper squid and chicken wontons. The wok-tossed stir fries with your choice of meat or seafood or a steaming bowl of pho loaded with silky noodles and fragrant broth will warm you right through to the core and have you feeling all sorts of good.

Murphy’s Irish Pub

43-44 Mandurah Terrace, Mandurah WA 6210

No town is complete without an Irish pub—and rest assured, Mandurah’s got a beauty in Murphy’s. Overlooking Mandjar Bay, this pub does a damn good job of dishing up all the warmth, banter and hearty fare you’d expect, but with epicly good food to back it up.

The house-made beef and Guinness pie is the stuff of legends—chunky steak, carrot and potato slow-cooked to perfection, served on a bed of mash and finished with a rich red wine jus. It’s not an easy choice though, with golden schnitties, drunken Irish ribs smothered in a sticky Guinness BBQ sauce and Kilkenny ale-battered fish and chips all up for grabs.

There’s free entertainment most nights—think trivia Mondays, live music Thursday to Sunday—and a solid line-up of beers, ciders, wines and cocktails to keep the good times flowing.

Indian Curry Planet

4/52 Mandurah Terrace, Mandurah WA 6210

When the curry cravings hit, you know there’s nothing else that will do. Cue Mandurah’s Indian Curry Planet— a true haven for rich and flavoursome dishes.

Sold as snacks in the streets of India, my all-time favourite starter has got to be a veggie pakora. Kind of like a fritter and bursting at the seams with all those comforting spices that totally hit the spot, you know you’re setting yourself up for a cracking feed.

And for mains, I am a sucker for anything paneer, a type of firm cheese used in Indian cooking, and no I’m not vego—it’s just so good for soaking up all that sauce. Whether it’s in a butter marsala or cashew nut sauce, as long as I’ve got a side of roti to mop it up with, I will be one happy lady. Of course, there’s all the usuals like korma, vindaloo and madras with your choice of protein, rice and breads. Just know, you’ll be ready to roll into bed, blissed out in a serious curry coma.

Boston Burgers

149 Mandurah Terrace, Mandurah WA 6210

The good folks at Boston have gone ahead and given us another reason to keep burgers firmly on the weekly menu. Their towering creations are what food dreams are made of, from juicy smashed beef patties to buttermilk fried chicken that’s seriously off the charts. Add a side of loaded fries or honey buffalo wings and you’ve got yourself one impressive feed.

There’s a cute-as fireplace inside and it’s casual enough where you won’t be judged for popping open the top button of your jeans. Don't say we didn’t warn you.

Keep an eye out for their rotating weekly specials and cheeky meal deals—they’re always slinging something delicious to warrant a visit.

Mandurah Steakhouse

3&4/51 Pinjarra Rd, Mandurah WA 6210

Carnivores delight—Mandurah’s Steakhouse is where it’s at. All about serious cuts, cooked right, and loaded with indulgent sides, we can’t think of a better way to acquaint ourselves with one of the best restaurants in town.

The hero here? Well of course it’s WA’s finest steaks, sourced locally from the likes of Margaret River and Harvey, cooked to your liking and topped with a slab of herb butter. Pair it with creamy mash, herbed potatoes or a crisp salad, then go all out with add-ons like mac and cheese, cauliflower mornay or charred corn. Sauce-wise, you’re spoilt—Alabama mayo, Béarnaise or a classic creamy peppercorn are all lip-smacking good.

Before the main event, loosen up with some tempura prawns tossed in the chef’s secret sauce or dive into their cult-fave bacon, chicken and cheese balls. This place is unapologetically all about the meat—and we are absolutely here for it.

Springbok Kitchen

4 Zephyr Mews, Mandurah WA 6210

If you’re after something a little out of the ordinary, add Springbok Kitchen to the top of your Mandurah hit list. This cosy South African restaurant and boutique bar tucked along the boardwalk brings big flavour, warm hospitality and a proudly meaty menu that’ll take your tastebuds well beyond the usual.

It’s uber relaxed but the crew are passionate about bringing West Aussies a taste of their home and the dishes are comforting, authentic, and absolutely full of soul. Make sure to check out the rotating potjie specials—a slow-cooked meat stew traditionally made in a cast-iron pot, served with pap (a maize porridge) or rice and cornbread. You’ll also want to try the biltong scotch eggs, rich house-made pâté and of course, the iconic boerewors sausage.

Jasmine Thai

7/2 The Palladio, Mandurah WA 6210

Jasmine Thai has long been a favourite with locals—and once you’ve tasted the food, you’ll understand why. Run by a Thai family with serious culinary cred, this welcoming spot keeps things traditional, with every dish prepared by Thai chefs using authentic ingredients and techniques just as they would back home.

You’ll find all the usual favourites here—fragrant green curries, stir-fried pad thai noodles, and sizzling meats that hit all the right notes. But whatever you do, save room for dessert. The fried ice cream served over caramelised banana splits is a banger, or if you’re more of a classic dessert fan, the chef-made apple pie with ice cream has your name on it.

Sharky’s

Ocean Marina, Shop/1 Dolphin Dr, Mandurah WA 6210

We couldn’t put together a Mandurah eats list without including a good ol’ serve of fish and chips—and Sharky’s delivers the goods with a side of seriously stunning sunset views. Perched right on the boardwalk, this laidback spot is a go-to for seaside classics done right.

Stick with the crowd-pleaser combo of golden battered fish, thick-cut chips and tartare sauce, or level things up with grilled WA dhufish served alongside creamy mash, buttered veg and a rich hollandaise. The menu’s crammed with more than just your usual takeaway fare too—think juicy steaks off the grill, loaded burgers, creamy garlic prawns over jasmine rice, and a seafood chowder that’s brimming with the good stuff. Its comfort eats meets coastal charm.
