Spirit Of Little Things may have only started as a way for a few mates to stay well-stocked in gin, but they’ve quickly become a major player in Perth’s gin scene since launching in 2018. Infused with native botanicals, their small-batch gins are now stocked at some of the best bars around town and their latest seasonal drop (which is incredibly hard to get your hands on) just took out gold at the Perth Royal Food Awards.
So when we heard they were planning on opening a cool new urban distillery this Spring, we were understandably super excited.
Tucked down a driveway in an unassuming rear warehouse at 205a Railway Road in Subiaco, you’d be forgiven for driving right past the (dare we say) very Melbourne style urban distillery, which co-owners Tom Martin, Mick Seah and Josh Krueger have largely renovated themselves.
They’ve been producing gin here for months but had always envisioned opening it to the public so locals could swing in and enjoy a gin or two right where the magic happens. And honestly, we can’t think of a much better atmosphere to enjoy Little Things’ tipples. Step inside this plant-filled converted warehouse and you’ll find a show-stopping (and fully functional) copper still, high ceilings, polished concrete floors, mood lighting and a slick little bar waiting for you.
At that slick little bar, you’ll be able to order plenty of gin-led drinks (duh) as well as a quality selection of wines and craft beer from local producers. If you’re feeling peckish you can also pick up some tasty bites from a small but mighty food menu, which is teeming with local goods too—think North Street Store bread alongside La Delizia burrata with William’s Bay honey, as well as heartier plates like meatballs and lentils. Yep, in case you haven’t clued on yet, the guys are big on showcasing the best of WA across everything they do.
Aside from offering locals a cool new drinking hole, the space will also play host to gin flights and masterclasses where you’ll be able to learn and experience all there is to know about their top-tier spirits in a relaxed and intimate setting. Pretty epic, right?
Spirit Of Little Things’ new urban distillery is due to open to the public Thursday 23 September, just in time for the grand final weekend. For enquiries, email admin@littlethingsgin.com.au.
