Carb-lovers unite! We’ve found a tasty Italian joint in Mount Lawley that’s completely dedicated to pasta, and we’ve never seen (or tasted) anything quite like it. We’re talking customised dishes of perfectly cooked pasta here, people, inspired by your fave dishes from all over the world (not just Italy).
All made in house, there are three simple steps to dining at Solo Pasta. First of all, you choose your flavour—these guys make classic, beetroot AND spinach pasta. Then you choose the length, because yes, they sell pasta by the metre (!!). There are 3 metres in a standard dish but obvs feel free to add on as many damn metres of heavenly goodness as you like.
Step three involves sauces, which are split into tomato bases (think your classic Italian bolognese), cream bases (AKA carbonara and butter pumpkin), and olive oil (paired with the likes of cherry tomatoes or sardines). While you can't really go wrong, we’re obsessed with the lamb tagine flavoured with Moroccan spices and the burnt veggies with onion, beetroot, cherry tomatoes, sweet potato and zucchini.
The curry chicken with lime, coconut curry, coriander, peanut and caramelised chilli is ideal if you’re addicted to Thai, and the cream based trio of mushrooms with spinach and garden green peas (as well as the beetroot purée with mascarpone and aged cheddar) forever leaves us wanting more. If Spanish tapas are more your vibe, opt for the chorizo with olive, chilli, garlic, fried shallots and freshly grated parmesan.
Those looking to cut down on carbs, should go for the zoodles (read: zucchini noodles) with basil pesto, tender chicken, cherry tomatoes, roasted capsicum, pine nuts, and parmesan plus a crunchy cabbage side salad, but if you're not concerned about calories, don't go home without treating yourself to the Swiss cheese cake with chocolate ganache or espresso creme brulee. Oh, and there's plenty of wine and cocktails to go around, too.
Perfect for date night and catch ups with the whole fam, Solo Pasta is always a good idea.
