The Best Things To Do With Kids In Singapore During The June School Holidays

  • Singapore Zoo

When the June school holidays roll around, Singapore turns into one giant playground packed with pop-ups, immersive experiences, outdoor adventures, and family-friendly festivals designed to keep little ones entertained all month long. Whether you’re looking to burn off energy at interactive exhibitions, cool down at water parks, or squeeze in a last-minute staycation, there’s no shortage of ways to keep the kids busy without hearing “I’m bored” every five minutes.

Whether you’ve got toddlers, tweens, or hard-to-impress teens in tow, these are the best things to do with kids in Singapore during the June school holidays.

Spend A Day (Or Two) At Mandai Wildlife Reserve

If you’re after a wild day out that’s more than just a stroll in the park, Mandai Wildlife Reserve is your one-stop nature escape. Spread across lush greenery just north of Singapore, it’s actually a cluster of parks, each with its own vibe. Start with Singapore Zoo, where open-concept enclosures make it feel like you’re wandering through real habitats (think orangutans swinging overhead and elephants casually chilling nearby). Over at River Wonders, you can meet everything from playful pandas to giant crocodiles while cruising themed river habitats inspired by the world’s most iconic waterways.

Come sundown, Night Safari flips the script with nocturnal adventures. Hop on the tram or explore dimly lit trails where shy and nocturnal creatures make their moves (it’s like a whole other side of wildlife coming alive after dark). For the feathered fans, Bird Paradise is packed with tropical birds strutting, soaring, and swooping in lush rainforest-inspired aviaries. And don’t sleep on the new Rainforest Wild Asia, which highlights the rich biodiversity of Southeast Asia, featuring animals like Malayan tigers, orangutans, and gibbons in habitats designed to feel immersive and natural.

And if the weather decides to be dramatic, duck into the brand-new Exploria, a 10,000sqm indoor multimedia playground where dinosaurs tower overhead, desert storms hit 40°C and glowing deep-sea creatures pulse in the dark, all without you breaking a sweat.

Each park in Mandai has its own personality: daytime wildlife encounters, river journeys, nocturnal thrills, bird paradise, or Southeast Asian rainforest vibes. Together, they create a full-on escape for anyone looking to get close to nature while staying in the city. Whether you’re a hardcore animal enthusiast or just after a chill day outdoors, Mandai is a proper wild ride.

Learn Interactively At The Children’s Museum

Children’s Museum Singapore

Children’s Museum Singapore (CMSG) is the first museum in Singapore dedicated to children 12 years old and below. The museum believes in sparking wonder, the power of play and aspires to be a place of wonder and joyful learning for all children to engage with Singapore and the world.

Families with young children can look forward to interactive exhibits, anchored in rich storytelling, complemented by engaging programmes and initiatives. The little ones will have hands-on opportunities to learn about Singapore’s heritage through play.

CMSG also organises educational programmes throughout the year to cater to children of different age groups and abilities. These programmes are created in collaboration with educators to ensure that they are developmentally appropriate for children.

Live Out Your Dessert Dreams

Museum of Ice Cream

If you’re looking for the ultimate sugar rush day out with the fam, the Museum of Ice Cream Singapore is pretty much kid-heaven (and let’s be honest, adult-heaven too). Picture this: an entire pink wonderland packed with larger-than-life installations, sprinkle-filled pools you can literally dive into, and unlimited ice cream along the way. Yep, the kids get to run wild in a space designed for pure fun while you happily “taste test” your way through cones, sundaes and soft serves. Win-win.

What makes it even better is how interactive it all is—every room is made to spark curiosity and joy, whether that’s sliding into a giant pink playground, bouncing on inflatable desserts, or scribbling out colourful wishes on the walls. It’s playful, it’s over-the-top, and it’s a guaranteed way to burn off some kiddo energy (and earn yourself the Parent of the Year crown). Pro tip: go early in the day so you can squeeze in a nap after all that sugar-fuelled excitement.

Explore Some Of Singapore’s Most Lush Green Spaces

Singapore is teeming with gorgeous and unexpected green spaces, thanks to its tropical humidity—it’s the perfect spot to tap into Mother Nature or throw down a picnic rug allowing the little ones to run wild.

Wanderers will love exploring the luscious 10 km-stretch of trails at Southern Ridges or the beautiful Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, while energetic little ones will want to spend hours at the massive East Coast Park Coastal Playgrove complete with all sorts of things to climb, slide down and discover.

Go Wild At An Indoor Playground

Singapore doesn’t mess around when it comes to keeping kids entertained—especially when the weather flips from blazing sun to torrential rain in five minutes flat. Enter: indoor playgrounds that go way beyond your standard ball pit. Think multi-level obstacle courses, glow-in-the-dark slides, ninja warrior zones, and cafes where parents can actually sit down with a decent coffee.

From mega play centres in malls to under-the-radar gems tucked into neighbourhoods, these are the places that deliver on fun, safety, and yes, air-conditioning. Rainy day plans? Sorted. Weekend meltdown prevention? Consider it handled.

You can check out our full list of Singapore’s best indoor playgrounds for air-conditioned fun here.

Explore An Underwater World

The new Singapore Oceanarium is here and it’s three times as massive as its predecessor. Taking over the old S.E.A. Aquarium, this reimagined space houses over 100,000 marine animals and 22 immersive zones. From dreamy moon jelly tanks and touch pools with seahorses, to prehistoric giants and a 36-metre-wide viewing panel, this is part deep-sea odyssey, part science museum.

You’ll also find conservation exhibits, cutting-edge research zones, and plenty of interactive elements to keep kids (and grown-ups) wide-eyed. Hot tip: give yourself at least three hours to explore: this isn’t your average fish tank.

Connect With Mother Nature At COMO Adventure Grove

Another leafy spot nestled within the Singapore Botanic Gardens, the COMO Adventure Grove allows children to swing, slide and climb up structures that resemble plant life unique to the city while learning about the importance of preserving our precious environment.

You’ll feel like you’ve landed in an overrun forest with all sorts of adventures to be had and corners to safely explore with plenty of shady areas to beat that midday sunshine for parents as well.

Immerse Yourself In Technology At The ArtScience Museum

A stunning must-see architectural venue, the ArtScience Museum sits pretty inside the extraordinary iconic open-hand building that looks a little like a lotus flower right by the water and Marina Bay Sands.

Inside, children (and adults) will learn all about the mind-boggling power of technology, science and arts with hi-tech installations and plenty of interactive exhibitions for all to explore.

Investigate The Ecosystems Of This Historic Island

Embark on a tranquil journey to Pulau Ubin and unwind from the bustle of the city. Let your little ones run wild on this petite boomerang-shaped island paradise which is home to Singapore’s last remaining village as well as the incredible Chek Jawa Wetlands, a treasure trove of biodiversity boasting one of the country’s most abundant and important ecosystems. Accessible via a quick ten-minute traditional bumboat, kids will love the magic of seeing a time long before their own.

Tackle Netted Obstacle Courses At Nestopia

Nestopia is a unique open-air play space with 17 different play sections on Siloso Beach. Ideal for kids of all ages, it features a range of netted obstacle courses connecting three giant nests and two of the longest slides on Sentosa.

Because this is an outdoor playground and there’s not a lot of shade, be sure to pack sunscreen, water and hats. Tickets for children below the age of 12 have a complimentary entry for one adult so there’s no need to book additional tickets. Although Nestopia is owned by Shangri-La, it’s not located at Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa, so don't get caught out.

Cool Of At Adventure Cove Waterpark

Adventure Cove Waterpark

Cool off at Adventure Cove Waterpark where there's an energy level and water slide to suit every vibe. Take things easy while you float down Adventure River in the comfort of a relaxing tube. Alternatively, thrill seekers will love the Riptide Rocket. The hydro roller coaster climbs and twists before its adrenaline-pumping drops.

For younger ones, the Big Bucket Treehouse and Bluewater Bay are great options. As is Rainbow Reef where you can snorkel with over 20,000 marine animals and wade with friendly rays in the shallows.

Get Your Skates On

Stretching along 15km of coastline, East Coast Park is the ideal location for an active day out that won’t break the bank.

Heading out of the city, stop in at Coastline Leisure to hire inline skates or a bike (prices start from $11 for three hours), before heading along the ECP’s well-maintained cycle paths at your own pace. Alternatively, bring your own board and hit up Xtreme SkatePark, where Singapore’s skate community gather to catch air along the waterfront, totally free of charge.

Check Out A Family-Friendly Beach Club

Splash Tribe

Part of the new The Palawan @ Sentosa (a standalone lifestyle and entertainment precinct by the Shangri-La Group), Splash Tribe is a family-oriented beach club with a sandcastle-themed wet-play zone and an infinity pool right by the beach. Complete with poolside and in-water sun loungers as well as elaborate two-storey private gazebos, you’ll be able to soak up some sun while the kids have a splashing good time.

As for the food and drink, there’s a kids menu full of child-friendly dishes such as chicken nuggets, pizza and fish and chips. For mum and dad, you’ll find everything from sliders and salads to seafood and wraps. There’s also a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available but we recommend their signature tiki cocktails.

Catch A Light And Water Show

Image credit: Marina Bay Sands | Supplied

It wouldn’t be a trip to Singapore without a stop at Gardens by the Bay. When the sun goes down you can catch Garden Rhapsody—a free musical display that brings the park’s iconic 50m supertrees to life at 7.45pm and 8.45pm. Just around the corner, Marina Bay Sands offers up Spectra, an epic 15-minute light and water show on the Marina Bay waterfront.

Expect colourful visual projections, fountain jets and plenty of lasers—displayed Sunday to Thursday at 8pm and 9pm, and Fridays and Saturdays at 9pm and 10pm. If you’re over at Sentosa, wander along to Magical Shores at Siloso Beach from 7.30pm to 9.30pm for a multi-sensory light and sound experience, or head across to the Sentosa Musical Fountain at 4pm, 5pm or 6pm to relive the iconic display that’s been kicking around since the eighties.

Spot The Dinosaurs At Changi Jurassic Mile

Changi Jurassic Mile

Just a stone’s throw away from Changi Airport you’ll find Singapore’s best-kept secret. Cycle, skate, jog or walk along the Park Connector to scope the city’s largest outdoor display of life-sized dinosaurs, just keep your camera ready to snap the giant T-Rex chomping down on the Park Connector’s fence.

Refuel at the nearby Hub and Spoke Café at Changi Airport, or cycle towards East Coast Park for a refreshing cup of sugarcane at East Coast Lagoon Food Village.

Visit The Countryside

Image credit: Bollywood Veggies | Facebook

Believe it or not but just 30 mins outside of Singapore’s bustling city centre lies a charming countryside that needs to be explored. Filled with sprawling green fields and farms, you won’t find a skyscraper out in Kranji.

Kick off your visit here with a bit of farm hopping. There are around 100 in the area, and 20 of them are open to the public. Hays Dairies should go to the top of your list. As Singapore’s only goat farm, you can feed the baby goats before picking up a carton of fresh goat’s milk—there’s even a chocolate variety on offer. Bollywood Veggies is another fave—the farm is the largest producer of bananas in Singapore so trying their homemade banana bread is a must-do. And for something a little different, you have to stop by Jurong Frog Farm where 10,00 American Bullfrogs reside. Next, explore the natural rugged beauty of Kranji from above at the Krani Marshes Raptor Tower; go hiking in the stunning Kranji forest and scope out birds and crocodiles at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, Singapore’s first heritage park.

Experience The Magic Of Universal Studios

Universal Studios Singapore
Image credit: Resorts World Sentosa | Supplied

Experience Southeast Asia’s first and only Universal Studios theme park. Spend the day immersed in the wonders of imagination with captivating rides, interactive shows and sets from your favourite movies and television shows.

Join Optimus Prime and the Autobots as you become a freedom fighter in an epic 3D battle against the forces of evil on the Transformers ride or engage in the ultimate intergalactic battle between good and evil on the world’s tallest duelling roller coasters. Little ones will love piloting their own Pteranodon on Dino-Soarin' and going on a space mission with the Sesame Street gang on the world’s first Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase.

Discover The Fascinating World Of STEM

Science Centre Singapore is a vibrant hub of scientific discovery and innovation, catering to visitors of all ages. Its captivating interactive exhibits and enlightening educational programs ignite curiosity, inspiring a deeper appreciation for science and technology.

Highlights include the iconic “Know your Poo” exhibit which touches on the topics of human waste, toilets and sanitation, the “Laser Maze Challenge” where you can harness your inner ninja, the “Science of Fear” exhibit where you can embark on a journey of self-discovery and find out what phobias really are, “Professor Crackitt's Light Fantastic Mirror Maze” which features a life-size labyrinth of mirrors, filled with infinite reflections and endless hallways, and the famous “Fire Tornado Show” where you can come face to face with a spectacular natural phenomenon.

For the youngest in the family, there’s even a water park (appropriate swimwear is required) where they can learn how important water is in our lives and KidsSTOP—a dedicated zone for little ones aged eight and below. Designed to introduce the concepts of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, there are a range of themed zones such as Flight and Space, Built Environment, and Supermarket which provide ample room for exploring science topics through hands-on activities.

We love the Planet Warriors marine conservation exhibit which uses immersive technology to enhance learning, the Dino Sand Pit where you can grab a shovel and dig for fossils, and the Typhoon Simulator where you can experience the effects of a typhoon without having to worry about the danger of flying debris.

Book A Family-Friendly Staycay

If you’re lucky enough to call Singapore home, why not treat the kids to a fancy staycation? If you’re planning a holiday here with little ones, we suggest bookmarking our roundup of the best family-friendly hotels in Singapore. From themed rooms to outdoor play areas and delicious children’s menus—Singapore’s best family-friendly hotels have a lot going for them.

One of favourites is the Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa. Just 15 minutes away from the city centre, the tropical playground features 454 spacious guest rooms with private balconies, six dining concepts, child-friendly facilities, a private beach, indoor and outdoor playgrounds, as well as a spa.

Selected rooms including the deluxe pool view and family garden rooms are equipped with a complimentary sofa bed suitable for up to two children. The family garden rooms are also conveniently located on the ground floor, offering easy access to the swimming pools, garden and kids club, which is fully supervised and suitable for children aged five to 12. There’s also a Mini Toots Club, which is available for toddlers with parental or guardian supervision.

The Silver Shell Cafe offers an all-you-can-eat buffet of Western classics, Asian favourites and seafood platters, alongside a la carte selections. It even has a kid's buffet zone with lower counters for little ones to help themselves.

Take A Stroll Along The Mandai Boardwalk

The Mandai Boardwalk

A new boardwalk has opened at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, offering breathtaking views of the Upper Seletar Reservoir and the Central Catchment Nature Reserve. The meandering 3.3km Mandai Boardwalk skirts the perimeter of River Wonders and Singapore Zoo and provides a peaceful space to observe local wildlife along the edge of the Reservoir, and to catch glimpses of some of the animals being cared for inside the Singapore Zoo.

The boardwalk is free to enter daily from 7am to 7pm during day light hours and can be accessed via two separate locations, one near the entrance of River Wonders, and the other from Mandai Wildlife East (a public space that serves as the brand-new gateway to Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders and other upcoming features). The boardwalk has been designed with wheelchair and pram friendly walkways which also accommodate visitors of all abilities and ages.

Play In The Powder

Shred through real snowfall and scope the three-storey Glacier Luge at Snow City. It may be tropical outside, but Singapore’s first permanent indoor snow centre offers up arctic adventures at any time of year.

It’s best to reserve a time slot for the snow play sessions, including the 60-metre snow slope and ice bumper cars. Winter clothing is included, but bring your sense of adventure and brace yourself for the cold.

Cover Every Corner Of Gardens By The Bay

Visiting Singapore without heading to Gardens by the Bay is like travelling to Paris and skipping out on the Eiffel Tower. There’s a reason this iconic attraction is repeatedly voted as one of the best in the world.

However many times you’ve visited the Cloud Forest, Flower Dome or Supertree Grove, the revolving exhibitions, music and light shows mean there’s always something new to witness. For example, the latest outdoor social hub which is free to the public is an all-new Active Garden that brings together people of all ages and walks of life. Similarly, the new Bay East Gardens will open in 2027 with even more experiential attractions—you never want to miss a chance to explore the Gardens by the Bay.

Enjoy A Green Escape At Singapore Botanic Gardens

Singapore Botanic Gardens

If you need a green escape without leaving the city, Sinagpore Botanic Gardens is the ultimate spot to wander, chill, and snap some enviable photos. This UNESCO World Heritage site isn’t just about manicured lawns (though there’s plenty of that), it’s a full-on botanical playground.

Start with the National Orchid Garden, where thousands of orchid species create a riot of color and scent, then wander through themed gardens like the Ginger Garden or Evolution Garden, each offering a different sensory experience. For families, the Jacob Ballas Children's Garden is a must-visit, with interactive exhibits, climbing trails, and water play areas that get kids exploring nature hands-on. Don’t miss the swan-filled lakes, giant rainforest trees, and endless spots perfect for a picnic, jog, or even a casual yoga sesh.

Ride The Wave Of Aloha At Splashtopia 2026

Image credit: Splashtopia 2026 | Supplied

Splashtopia 2026 is back in Singapore, bringing a full-on splash of Aloha spirit to Palawan Green from 30 May to 28 June. Now in its third year here, the family water playground returns bigger, brighter, and fully reimagined with a Hawaiian- and Polynesian-inspired theme that turns Sentosa into a tropical inflatable wonderland. Think eight giant bouncy castles, water-filled play zones, slides, pools, and island-style beats setting the scene for a day of non-stop fun in the sun.

From adrenaline rushes to chill-out corners, there’s something for every kind of little (and not-so-little) adventurer. Brave the high-speed twin-slide at Tiger’s Great Wave Escape, float into downtime at Happy’s Aloha Oasis, or let younger kids loose at Raby’s Toss & Splash, designed for sensory water play. Across the day, Kiztopia Friends will pop by in their Hawaiian fits for meet-and-greets, while families can team up in the water-gun showdown against Captain Thirsty. It’s all about playful chaos, connection, and making the kind of summer memories that stick long after you’ve dried off.

Embrace Family-Friendly Fun At Resorts World Sentosa

Ocean Dreams
Image credit: Resorts World Sentosa | Supplied

Just in time for the school holidays, Resorts World Sentosa is rolling out a massive Summer of Treasures programme from 29 May to 30 August, packed with family-friendly adventures across the island. Little ones can follow a giant marine-themed CRYBABY trail through Singapore Oceanarium, complete with larger-than-life inflatables, sculptures and photo spots inspired by POP MART's beloved character. Over at Adventure Cove Waterpark, Sanrio's Hapidanbui crew is taking over with adorable character installations, themed treats and exclusive collectibles, while Universal Studios Singapore is getting a Minions & Monsters makeover with new character meet-and-greets, live shows and limited-edition snacks.

Beyond the character takeovers, there are plenty of hands-on experiences designed for curious young minds. Families can dive into ocean-themed workshops, reef conservation activities and interactive learning experiences at Singapore Oceanarium, while budding photographers can join guided photo walks through the attraction. One of the standout experiences this season is Ocean Dreams, an overnight glamping adventure inside the Oceanarium where families can sleep beside the Open Ocean habitat, complete with kid-friendly activities, games and marine-themed keepsakes.

There are even more reasons to make a day of it, with football legend appearances, family-friendly challenges, exclusive merchandise drops and evening Twilight tickets that let you explore the parks after the heat of the day. Whether your kids are obsessed with Minions, Sanrio characters, POP MART collectibles or marine life, this school holiday line-up is shaping up to be one of Sentosa's biggest family-friendly events of the season.
