We’re calling it. If there’s one thing that makes the world go round it’s coffee. Ain’t nobody got time to adult without at least one double shot 3/4 skim latte to go first thing in the morning. But where oh where should you go to get this liquid gold, we hear you ask? Well, the search is officially over because our readers (that’s you guys) have voted for your favourite coffee in Sydney. The votes have been tallied and the results are in meaning your mornings are now officially #sorted.

#1 Dachshund Coffee | Hunters Hill

If naming a café after a gorgeous hound still isn’t enough to get you there then the coffee absolutely is. This totes adorbs Hunters Hill café brews up a quality coffee to go with their delish menu of breakfast classics. Oh, and they’re dog friendly, in case you hadn’t guessed.

#2 Jardin St James | CBD

So while it’s normally their ridic avocado on toast with fennel, rocket and whipped goat’s cheese that gets us into a fluster, the coffee at this Sydney café is the business. With a range of daily selections, a list of rotating local and international single origins for those who like it black, and a 12 hour cold brew, these guys will have you well caffeinated and ready to take on the world.

#3 Goblin Kitchen And Bar | Summer Hill

This is artisan made coffee right in the heart of Summer Hill. The crew here use only the best Pablo & Rusty beans when it comes to creating their famous brews and mix things up with a different single-origin bean featured each week, you know for the serious enthusiasts amongst us.

#4 The Pommery Cafe | Alexandria

The team at The Pommery Cafe are all about life’s three most important ingredients—coffee, culture and food. A relatively new kid on Sydney’s coffee block, their coffee is sure to give you the buzz you’re after and they’re baked goods are worth a taste or two as well.

#5 Aslan Coffee | St Peters

These guys brew their own beans direct from Indonesia and change things up on the reg, you know, to keep things interesting. They always have three unique brews to choose from and they all go perfectly with their mighty fine menu packed with favourites like fig and ricotta toast and maple glazed bacon. Mmmmm bacon. 

#6 The Drop | Annandale

Whether it’s a classy cold drip, dirty chai frappe, almond milk iced latte or a more traditional flat white with one, The Drop in Annandale is a homely spot to watch the world go by in the heart of the inner west. Pair your choice of brew with a choc salted caramel slice or a gluten free snack as you sit back and watch the bevvy of puppies stroll by.

#7 Dear Delicious | Dulwich Hill

These guys bring the caffeinated goods to Dulwich Hill. Settle in to the relaxed surroundings and prepare those buds for a perfectly brewed cup exactly how it should be before feasting on something from their organic and ethically sourced menu, think house made crème caramels with coconut cream.

#8 Cavalier Specialty Coffee | St Leonards

This is the go-to coffee joint for St Leonards locals and officeworkers. These guys rotate their beans each week and prepare them with all the love and expertise you’d expect, to serve up the very best when it comes to espresso, batch or filter brew coffee, which is just right for their French toast tiramisu. Yes, you read that right, French toast tiramisu is a thing.

#9 Coffee Alchemy | Marrickville

This place is a haven for purists. A celebrated roaster in its own right, Coffee Alchemy in Marrickville boasts brewers so meticulous when it comes to the perfect roast and blend that they’ve won a few (many) awards in their time.  So if the origin and blend in your morning cup is what gets you excited, get yourself down these guys asap.

#10 Gumption | CBD

Rounding out our Reader’s Choice Awards is Gumption. Started by the team behind Coffee Alchemy, it comes as no surprise they know a thing or two about beans. Located in the Strand Arcade, you can take a load off and try all of Coffee Alchemy’s blends, brews and beans for yourself.
