Bar tilda is a stylish CBD bar with top-tier wines, Australian whiskies, creative cocktails, and gourmet bar snacks. It's one of four venues by House Made Hospitality (of nearby Hinchcliff House and Martinez, and Promenade Bondi) soon to open at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, alongside its sister restaurant tilda.
“Bar tilda is about embracing a spirit of relaxed, luxury drinking experiences,” says House Made Hospitality director Jason Williams.
“We’ve curated a vibrant cross-section of our local drinks scene to show what makes it truly special.”
The cocktail menu playfully nods to Aussie culture with creations like the Yellowbelly Martini: Ester dry gin, cucumber vermouth, yellow chartreuse and a cheeky dash of chicken salt. For an added touch of elegance, bar tilda’s roving martini cart provides tableside theatre with Archie Rose martinis stirred or shaken to your liking.
The real showstopper is bar tilda’s whisky armoire—a stunning ornamental cabinet showcasing over 100 whiskies including rare gems from the ‘90s and prized first editions, and there's a stellar wine list boasting 30 wines by the glass highlighting the best of Australia’s iconic and up-and-coming labels.
Bar tilda's menu delivers elevated bar bites like cacio e pepe popcorn and oysters dressed with champagne or whisky alongside more hearty feeds like a signature tilda cheeseburger; a Rangers Valley Black Onyx rump cap; and an upscale chopped salad embellished with half a lobster.
Designed by Fender Katsalidis, bar tilda's interior oozes warmth and intimacy, with deep burgundy plaster walls, a striking marble bar, and cosy custom furnishings.
Bar tilda is scheduled to open on Wednesday 9 October. In the meantime, read more about tilda and stay in the know about Sydney's latest restaurant and bar openings by joining our newsletter.
