Life-Sized, Moving Dinosaurs Are Taking Over Sydney Zoo

Animal fans, aspiring paleontologists, and followers of a certain Jurassic-focused film enterprise are in for a thrill when Dinosaur Safari returns to Sydney Zoo in time for the April 2025 school holidays.

The family-friendly experience will take visitors back in time to a world with dozens of life-sized, moving and roaring dinosaurs, plus hands-on experiences and entertaining additions.

Familiar and favourite faces including T-Rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus and Brachiosaurus will be on show, and fearless raptor fans can get an up-close experience with a roaming raptor and its baby during the thrilling Raptor Show in the amphitheatre.

The Raptor Show runs hourly between 10am and 3pm on weekends only until 11 April, or hourly between 10am and 1pm, Monday–Friday, and between 10am and 3pm on weekends until 27 April.

Educational aspects for info-hungry kids include exploring the connection between the dinosaur models and their modern-day animal descendants, getting hands-on at the Fossil Dig site, and snapping a pic inside the massive Megalodon jaws. Thrill-seekers will love the Rides Zone with the Jurassic Rollercoaster ($10), mini Ferris Wheel, and dino-themed carnival games (from $6).

Access to Dinosaur Safari is included with Sydney Zoo passes, offering the chance to see over 4,000 animals and their prehistoric counterparts on one big day out.

Admission to Sydney Zoo starts at $19.99 for children and $44.99 for adults, and can be purchased online for a discounted rate, or at the gate.
