Double Rainbouu Founder Mikey Nolan On Celebrating Sydney Mardi Gras Your Way

By – who will need to try a bite of every dish at the table.

Fashion brands don’t come much more Sydney than Double Rainbouu; the laid-back, streetwear-to-beachwear label does striking, gender-fluid styles that celebrates self-expression and authenticity in all forms.

For the 2025 Pride season in Sydney, Double Rainbouu has collaborated with dating app Tinder on a limited-edition, three-piece collection celebrating love and individuality (opportunely launched on Valentine’s Day and the first day of Sydney Mardi Gras). 100% of all profits from the collab are being donated to The Equality Project, an Australian LGBTQIA+ charity promoting the health and wellbeing of rainbow communities.

“The central messaging is all for love, love for all. I just wanted to design something that had a really simple and compelling message and ask,” says Double Rainbouu founder and designer Mikey Nolan.

“Choose love—it’s just easier.”

The lineup includes a sporty, silver set with open-gauge mesh panels and the Love For All motif on both sides, and there’s an exclusive take on Double Rainbouu’s best-selling Burning Up Chrome print on hot pink.

“[The silver top] is a cropped length but quite oversized, so you can wear it baggy and have plenty of room to move and be yourself, and it has toggles so you can ruche it up if you get hot and sweaty on the dancefloor, and keep moving…”

The bold and playful designs respond to Tinder’s growing adoption among queer users lookin’ for love, with 30% of matches on Tinder right now between LGBTQIA+ users—a 66% increase on last year alone.

So how does Mikey suggest you style it up for Mardi Gras?

“Even as a fashion designer, I don’t like to give people tips on how to dress—especially for Mardi Gras. I think what you need to do is just be your authentic self."

"Obviously, it’s a time to express your individuality—[that’s why I love] the capsule. You can pair the shorts with a black t-shirt to pare it back, you can go all silver, you can mix and match… but most importantly, you just need to be yourself.”

The Tinder x Double Rainbouu collection is available on Double Rainbouu’s website now.
