Another Aussie food delivery company bites the dust.

After 20 years in the biz, Menulog—like Deliveroo and Foodora before it—has announced it will cease operations in Australia from November 2025.

Got questions? Same! Here’s everything we know about the Menulog Australia shutdown so far.

When does Menulog actually shut down?

Menulog will cease operations in Australia at midnight on Wednesday, 26 November 2025.

The announcement was made in a statement on Tuesday, 12 November, giving customers, couriers, and employees a two-week transition period before they officially pull the plug.

Why is Menulog Australia shutting down?

In a statement on their website, Menulog (which is part of Dutch-based company Just Eat Takeaway.com) said that after navigating “challenging circumstances”, they’ve made a strategic decision that “reflects our focus on accelerating growth and investments in other markets and to deliver the best experience for customers, partners and couriers.”

Pretty vague, but it’s probably safe to assume it had something to do with an increasingly competitive market dominated by giants like Uber Eats and DoorDash. There’s only so much Snoop Dogg and a catchy jingle can do, after all…

Side note, we’ll definitely miss seeing Bliss n Eso’s What's Good In Your Hood Menulog campaign. Who knew AI-generated fried chicken hot air balloons and Aussie hip hop vibes would go so well together?

What happens to Menulog’s employees and couriers now?

About 120 direct Menulog employees will be affected by the closure, and they will receive redundancy packages and outplacement support.

Thousands of delivery drivers and riders will also be affected, and ‘eligible couriers’ (whatever that means) will be entitled to a four-week voluntary payment. This comes at a time when organisations like The Transport Workers’ Union are calling out for better conditions for gig workers overall.

“We urgently need standards in the gig economy to stop the relentless downward spiral. New laws introduced by the Albanese government will significantly level the playing field—but DoorDash, Uber Eats, Hungry Panda and Easi now need to come to the table to ensure we get standards in place as soon as possible,” said TWU National Secretary, Michael Kaine.

Can I still order from Menulog and use my credits and vouchers?

If you’re a die-hard fan of the Aussie-born food delivery platform, you can still order food through Menulog until 11.59 pm AEDT on Wednesday, 26 November. Menulog said they will honour unused vouchers and account credits until that time, too.

So, if you’ve got money to spend at Menulog or just want to order a cheeky Pad Thai through them one last nostalgic time… you'd better get cracking.
