There’s been plenty of ‘bummer’ moments this year, butt one of the worst has been the cancellation of Dark Mofo. If it went ahead, we would have just been returning from our annual pilgrimage to Australia’s bottom end; instead, the gang from the world’s most hedonistic museum, MONA, are bringing you a puzzle to pass the time, a puzzle depicting Delvoye’s Cloaca Professional (aka Mona’s poo machine).
In true MONA fashion, the puzzle is hard. Really hard. It’s made up of 1000 pieces that are an ambiguous shade of black and has an expected completion time of ‘at least a few weeks’.
For those who want to further recreate some sort of MONA experience at home, there are plenty of other items that are, well, naturally MONA. Grab a mug which reveals a close-up portrait of David Walsh when heated, several confronting prints from previous works on display or Walsh’s revealing autobiography.
