Za’atar Bakehouse

It’s that warm, old-school hospitality with a smile from seasoned hospitality professionals that I get right away—yet it also feels like rocking up to a friend’s place, when they ask if I’m hungry yet. Welcome to Za'atar Bakehouse, your new breakfast spot.

Food & Drink

Chow Luck Club

Once a Facebook community for the hangry during COVID-19,  now a vibrant assortment of IRL food festivals and events, and a digital platform dedicated to all things tasty, the rise of Chow Luck Club has been an impressive one.

269 Parnell

It seems like 269 Parnell was under construction for millennia, so much so that we’d long stopped expecting anything to materialise behind it.

Bakeries & Delis

Butter Baby HQ

When it comes to baked goods, Butter Baby is a bonafide triple threat (and by that, we mean you'll find them on our best cookies, best cinnamon buns, AND best doughnuts lists—pretty impressive, right?).

Where To Gorge On Dubai Chocolate-Inspired Treats In Auckland

If there's one food trend that's defined 2025 thus far, it's Dubai or knafeh chocolate. What started as a candy bar bringing together pistachio cream, tahini, and kataifi (a type of shredded pastry) inside a crackable, paint-splattered chocolate shell, created by Sarah Hamouda of Fix Dessert Chocolatier in Dubai—has inspired an infinte number of copcats across the globe, and just as many sweet treats (think cookies, pastries, even cocktails).
Food & Drink

Broadway Food Company Papakura

Tucked away off Papakura’s Broadway strip is a foodie’s heaven that goes by the name of Broadway Food Company. Boasting six glorious cuisines and counting, it gives us endless options by Auckland’s best independent street foodies. From hand-crafted smash burgers, wood-fired Turkish pides/pizzas, and seriously tasty fried chicken, to finger-licking good slow-cooked BBQ, Indian street food, charcoal kebabs,  plus the Beer Spot (next door)—this place has something for everyone.
Restaurants

Street Feast

Some of the city's fave street food vendors have come together as one big happy (and incredibly tasty) family to form Titirangi's new Street Feast food hall. This epic spot on the ground floor of The Rise development is already making a name for itself as a one-stop shop for all things delicious. This is because Street Feast is far from your average food hall, with seven legendary eateries to choose from (meaning a return trip, if not several, is all but guaranteed). Smash back seriously stacked burgs from Jo Bro's (the wagyu number will change your life)—fill your face with tacos from their sister offering, Loco Bro's—chow down on a slice or 10 of woodfired goodness from Stumpy's Pizza (and be sure to check out their insane oven)—tuck into empanadas and gluten-free goodness from Mar & Tierra—feast on fried chicken from SaPa Kitchen (bought to us by the team behind much-loved food truck, NomNom)—then finish things off with something sweet from Wen & Yen's dessert bar, where their signature doughnuts sit alongside barista coffee and handcrafted gelato from Little 'Lato.
Bakeries & Delis

Dedwood Deli

Named for Ponsonby’s old moniker after a certain Captain Dedwood—who we’re convinced was a lively old soul back in 1845—Dedwood Deli is a cute eatery which exudes rustic charm and wholesomeness.
Restaurants

A bustling new eatery—Lobster & Tap—has just opened in the heart of the iconic Auckland Fish Market, specialising in premium Canadian wild caught lobster rolls. Be still our beating hearts. Like the best things in life, your choices here are short and succinct.

Peach’s Hot Chicken

Chow down on authentic, southern-fried chicken at Peach's Hot Chicken, an epic food truck-turned-restaurant in the heart of Panmure. Choose from a range of droolworthy dishes, available in varying heats but all equally delicious, in an upmarket, diner-style setting that will have you feeling about as American as American pie (which, by the way, is also on the menu).
The Beer Spot
Bars & Pubs

The Beer Spot

With more than 40 beers on tap, The Beer Spot is a utopia for the beer lovers in Auckland. But don't let the big "beer" banner fool you into thinking that's the only thing they on offer. Wines and spirits are taken just as seriously at this joint and they don't fall short when it comes to food either. The Beer Spot is constantly hosting the best food trucks around Auckland to serve their customers with tasty eats which go down a treat with one of their endless variety of brews.

Goodnight Cocoa

We think we’re in love. Goodnight Cocoa has seduced us with their rich, chocolatey hot cocoa, and it has warmed the cockles of our hearts. Dan and his partner, Ali, are the lovely couple behind this gorgeous little pop-up (often found at The Street Food Collective). They serve unbelievably moreish homemade smores, and cocoa topped with a scoop of chocolate ice cream—yum! Find where they are on Facebook and go say hello!
The Tin Kitchen Food Truck Auckland
Markets & Food Events

The Tin Kitchen

The Tin Kitchen is exactly how it sounds. A tin kitchen, on wheels, in the shape of a small caravan. We, just like you, love food trucks. The simplicity, the moveable location, the cheap eats. The Tin Kitchen provides all of those things, with restaurant quality. With owner Matt Ross being a keen fisherman, The Tin Kitchen has gained a well-deserved reputation for it’s delectable soft shell crab burger. It might even be the best in Auckland.
