Wednesday 21 February

Ballistic Beer Co Brewery Showcase

Beer connoisseurs of Brisbane, this one’s for you. The legends over at Helsby’s Alehouse, located inside the Pineapple Hotel, are back with their signature showcase series, where they bring to your tastebud’s attention the best microbreweries in and around Brisbane. This time Ballistic Beer Co – based out of Salisbury – is the star of the show. Tickets to the showcase will net you food and four beer samples, which will cover a range of different beer varieties. As always, Helsby’s Head Brewer Lachy Crothers will be on hand to answer all your beer-related questions while you sip a cold one courtesy of Ballistic Beer Co’s fine selection. The whole shebang will take place from 7:00pm at 706 Main Street, Kangaroo Point. Wednesday night plans = sorted. For all the details, click here.

Business Chicks Lunch With Kate Hudson

After much hype (and high-pitched squeals) from us, this is the week that actor, Kate Hudson—mother of two, best-selling author, Golden Globe-winner, and fiercely inspiring woman—arrives in Brisbane! As part of Business Chicks wildly popular industry lunches, Hudson will be sitting down with BC's founder and CEO, Emma Issacs (plus a room full of inspiring) for an afternoon of inspiring conversation. If you haven't already got your ticket (*gasp) there are still a final few on sale, so hurry up and get your now. Because, let's face it, when will you ever be in the same room as that many inspiring women again? To get your hands on tickets, click here.

National Margarita Day

The signature drink of breezy beach-side holidays everywhere, it’s no secret that margaritas will always have a special place in our hearts. So when Pepe’s Mexican Newmarket decided to honour the humble margarita by throwing a party for National Margarita Day, we just had to share. From 11:30am, you can expect to partake in a generous selection of speciality margaritas straight from the talented hands of Pepe’s bartenders. A live Mariachi trio will be on hand to transport you directly to Mexico as you sip. Afterwards, combine the flavours of your drink with some seriously delicious Mexican eats. Don’t forget to sample the margarita variation we’ve heard Pepe’s is mixing up just for this event. Trust us, you’ll thank us later. Save us a drink at 184 Enoggera Road, Newmarket. Brisbane MindBodySpirit Festival

The myth, the legend, the Brisbane MindBodySpirit Festival is back for another year of helping you kick-start your health and wellness goals. Taking place from Friday 23rd February to Sunday 25th February, the festival will help you learn and buy from over 200 exhibitors, attend seminars on all things health and wellness, indulge in some body pampering and sample more than a few health foods. Heck, they had us just at the mention of free food; all the other goodies on offer are just a bonus. Have really getting educated on health, wellness and spiritual guidance at the top of your New Year’s Resolution list? Friends, the Brisbane MindBodySpirit Festival is here to help. Oh and it’s all totally free. For all the details, click here.

BrisAsia Sounds At Green Jam

Taking over our fair city this February, the BrisAsia Festival has quite a few killer events hidden up its sleeves. The BrisAsia Sounds at Green Jam musical showcase is just the beginning.  Aiming to highlight the crème de la crème of the young Asian-Australian musicians shaking up the industry, BrisAsia at Green Jam might just replace Netflix and pizza this Friday night (controversial opinion, we know). Kicking off from 5:30pm outside QPAC, the current line-up includes indie-rock band Twelve Past Midnight, Namie Rasman – an electronic artist hailing from Singapore – and R&B up-and-comer May Lyn. Here’s what we’d do: grab your mates, lay down a picnic blanket on the fairy-light framed lawn, order yourself a Korean-inspired dish from the Green Jam menu and let the stresses of the week fade away as you listen to some sweet, sweet tunes.
