Cooking With Super Foods
If you’re anything like us, you’re always looking for a way to add a little extra health into your diet. Luckily, the Hundred Acre Bar in St Lucia, had the same thought and decided to create the ultimate healthy cooking class featuring super foods. Packed full of nutrients, super foods have been linked to improved digestive health, a reduction in bloating and might even be responsible for that dewy, glowing skin we all want in our lives. Hundred Acre Bar created their class to give you the tools to be able to incorporate these little bundles of health into your lifestyle. A ticket to the aptly-named Cooking With Super Foods class will net you a wide selection of nibbles on arrival, ingredients for the meal you’ll be cooking, taste-testing throughout the session and even a cheeky bevvy to top things off. Thursday 8 March
Yoga After Dark At Aether Brewing
We like yoga and we like beer, so when Aether Brewing went and combined the two for Yoga on Tap, we just had to share. Known as Yoga After Dark, Thursday night will see Aether Brewing’s Barrel Room transformed into a palace of Zen. Yogi and beer connoisseur Eva Lewis will be on hand to guide you through an hour of invigorating yoga. Afterwards, grab your squad and enjoy a well-earned pint of beer. And since all proceeds will go directly to the Fred Hollows Foundation, a charity dedicated to ending blindness and improving Indigenous health throughout Australia, the price of your cold one will also be supporting a good cause. SheSociety’s International Women’s Day Lunch
March 8 means one thing and one thing only: International Women’s Day. To celebrate all women kicking butts worldwide and empower those still facing adversity, SheSociety is throwing a lunch at Darling & Co that you won’t want to miss. Sharyn Ghidella will be performing the role of MC and Anushka Dowling, Assistant Director of the Mate Bystander Program at Griffith University, will be speaking about how we can all help promote changes in attitudes to support women in the future. A ticket to the lunch will score you an entrée and main course courtesy of the legends behind Darling & Co and a drink on arrival. You’ll also be able to participate in raffles and silent auctions throughout the event, with all proceeds going to the Allison Baden-Clay Foundation to help stop domestic and family violence in Queensland. Brisbane, you know what to do. For all the details, click here.
Friday 9 March
Botanica | The Art Of Jakob Perrett
The creative legend behind Ink and Sonder, Brisbane-based artist Jakob Perrett, will be opening a brand new exhibition at The Burrow this Friday night and we couldn’t be more pumped! Dubbed 'Botanica', Jakob’s new artwork focuses on all things botanically-inspired. Jakob uses the medium of gouache to create fluid works that perfectly capture the liveliness and diversity of the natural world around us. To celebrate the opening of Botanica, The Burrow is pulling out all the stops with a full menu available for sampling. Oh and the opening just so happens to coincide with happy hour, so there’ll be plenty of beer and cider on tap to combine your art viewing with. For all the details, click here.
