A Four-Course Black Tie BBQ Is Taking Over Osbourne Hotel For One Night Only
Brissy, it’s time to dust off your bow ties. On Thursday, 20 November, Fortitude Valley’s Osbourne Hotel will transform into a bourbon-soaked black tie barbeque to celebrate the launch of Jim Beam Black 7-Year-Old Bourbon Whiskey—the smooth new premium pour that’s been mellowing away in oak barrels for, you guessed it, seven years.
The menu kicks off with crostinis topped with cherry wood smoked lamb that’s been marinating in Jim Beam Black, plus spiced smoked pork cakes, brightened with apple slaw and a tangy sweet and sour dressing.
Shared mains turn up the heat and smoke yet again: slow-cooked beef brisket with Kentucky black vinegar, pickle-and-tabasco brined chicken getting messy with mumbo sauce, and oak-smoked Humpty Doo barramundi swimming in lemon butter. Classic southern sides like charred corn, slaw and tater tots bring even more comfort, with a sweet, sticky Derby bourbon cheesecake to finish.
Naturally, there’s bourbon at every turn. Sip it neat, stir in bitters and ginger, or enjoy some Beam-based cocktails created specifically for the night. There’ll even be a guided tasting to help you explore the rich spice, smooth oak and silky finish that sets this spirit apart.
But you’ll be experiencing Jim Beam beyond taste alone. Expect a full sensory experience with oak and vanilla in the air and a high-octane bluegrass band spinning tunes all evening.
So dress to impress, come hungry and thirsty, and lean into BBQ, bourbon and black tie swag. With just 50 seats up for grabs and an all-inclusive $117 price tag, be sure to snap up a ticket before it's too late.
