Los Felix
Joining the ever-growing line up of foodie offerings at Woolloongabba’s South City Square precinct is Los Felix, a hole-in-the-wall taqueria dishing up Southern Cali-inspired Mexican street food fare. With plenty of colourful outdoor seating under vibrant yellow umbrellas, the casual eatery will have you feeling like you’re anywhere but Brisbane, especially once you’ve got your hands wrapped around a soft taco.
Head up to the black and white tiled counter to order up a serve of one of the six flavoursome soft corn tortilla tacos on the menu. Available singly or as a trio, fillings include creamed chipotle chicken with shaved cabbage and pickled onion; braised lamb shoulder with onion, coriander, and morita smoked sauce; and crisp beer battered snapper with chipotle mayo and pico de gallo. On the side you can add on guacamole and chips or Tijuana loaded fries piled with chipotle mayo, pickled jalapeño, queso fresco, and crunchy bacon, as well as crunchy churros for dessert.
You’ll need to wash it all down with a drink of course, and here mezcal and tequila take the stage, with plenty of classic, Tommy’s and frozen margaritas, as well as palomas, Mexican beers and sodas. And just so you know, Los Felix comes to us from the hospitality team behind the neighbouring South City Wine, Casa Chow, Sasso and Purple Palm, so it’s guaranteed to satisfy.
