Lo and behold folks, the last weekend of winter has finally come! That means it’s time to get back the spring in our step (see what we did there?) and paint the town red. This final winter weekend is jam packed with things to keep you busy. After all, what more do you expect from Melbourne? There’s a spring food truck fest, Argentinian BBQ classes, and the Camberwell Market turns 40!

Here are 13 awesome things to do in Melbourne this weekend.

All Weekend

Smoked Trail by Stolen Rum

Stolen, the world's first smoked rum, has created a Smoked Trail for Melburnites to follow all through Melbourne! Teaming up with Lucy Liu, Belleville, Section 8 and a bunch of others, these amazing bars will be offering a selection of smoked cocktails. If you've had a tough week (or even if you haven't) this is the perfect way to wind back and enjoy the booze kick. More deets here

Spring Food Truck Weekend

The folks at the Preston Food Truck Park are clearly just as excited for Spring as we are! Say hello to the sunshine by indulging in some epic eats from your favourite food trucks, grabbing some flowers from the flower market, and having a groove some epic DJ sets. This three-day event is also a fundraiser for Daffodil Day, and will be supporting the Cancer Council through a raffle! We’re expecting epic things from this one.

Melbourne Writers Festival

Kicking off this weekend, the prestigious Melbourne Writers Festival is back for 2016! This is the oldest literary fest held in Australia and promises big things. Writers like Molly Crabapple, Richard Flanagan, and Tim Costello will feature – and there’s a bunch of events you can attend all throughout the festival. There’ll even be a Roald Dahl exhibition to trigger some major childhood nostalgia! Check out the program here.

Vogue Fashion’s Night Out

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week is here, and that means it’s time for Vogue’s Fashion Night Out! This epic shopping event was created by Anna Wintour in 2009, and it’s gracing Melbourne with hundreds of offers during a one-night shopping frenzy. Taking over Melbourne’s CBD, this is the perfect time to get your wardrobe ready for spring! Our best advice – don’t spend all your savings in one go (it may be a struggle). This is the perfect way to greet your weekend while making sure you nab the best bargains!
