5 Awesome Things To Do In Melbourne This Week

By Steff Tan - 25 Sep 2017

Calling all self-proclaimed Dumpling Masters, it’s your time to shine. It's World Dumpling Day this Tuesday, and Melbourne’s celebrating with special treats and non-stump dumpling goodness.

But if dumplings aren’t enough to coax you out of your reality TV comas, there’s also an all-day shopping extravaganza at Highpoint to get you looking on point for summer.

The goods just won’t stop coming. Here’s five awesome things to do in Melbourne this week.

Tuesday 26 September

Yep, you read that right—it’s World Dumpling Day this Tuesday, and to celebrate, the good people at Oriental Teahouse are throwing their kitchen doors wide open to celebrate. For 45 bucks a head, you get non-stop dumplings for din-dins. House favourites like the epic Flame Thrower Pulled Pork dumpling and the Chilli Wagyu Beef will be available, and you’ll be able to feast on some brand spankin’ new creations, like Kimchi Pork and Black Bean Angus Beef dumplings. But be quick to book online, coz there're only three sittings across their South Yarra and CBD restaurants.

Where: Oriental Teahouse, 455 Chapel Street, South Yarra & 378 Lt Collins Street
When: 6:00pm & 8:00pm sittings at Oriental Teahouse South Yarra & 6:30pm sitting at Oriental Teahouse CBD

But wait, there’s more. Also wonton to join the World Dumpling Day celebrations is Crown's Man Tong Kitchen and Prahran's Hu Tong dumpling bar. Take a seat at either of these restaurants on Tuesday and you’ll be treated with a surprise dish unique to your table. This is an all-day sort of thing, stretching from midday all the way to 10pm, which means you can get the best of both worlds of a surprise treat and all The Bachelorette goodness.

Where: Man Tong Kitchen, Level One, Crown Melbourne & Hu Tong Prahran, 1/162 Commercial Road, Prahran
