You would have thought the shock value of Melbourne’s temperamental weather would have died down by now. Naaaaa. Three days of extreme sunshine followed by wind, rain and humidity still has us scratching our heads. Lucky for you, this week's pretty straightforward.

Here is our list of five awesome things to do in Melbourne this week.

The Jewish Museum invites you to learn about Amy Winehouse’s life, career and struggles. The exhibition, curated by her family, showcases personal belonging that emphasise Amy’s youthful passion for music and strong connection to her Jewish roots. Oh yeah, and we're the only city in Australia to host this exhibition. We don’t need to tell you twice, see you there!

Monday 23 October


Think shipping containers, bright bunting and crate seating. West-siders, you're officially getting an outdoor dining precinct at Highpoint Shopping Centre. Retailers unique to the West will be temporarily setting up shop from Monday. First tenants include Up In Smoke, Kenny Parker and Dex2Rose. Launch weekend (Saturday 28 and Sunday 29) offers discounts, free food, live music and 'Trugo' (just google it).

Who runs the distilling world? Girls! This sweet collab with Nip of Courage is bringing together the crème de la crème of the distillery to Port Melbourne. Capi is helping out with the soft stuff while A Bit of Jam and Pickle is cooking up a Mediterranean feast to soak up the hard stuff. $105pp includes dinner, drinks, spirits, a masterclass and all of the tastings. Sorry fellas, this one is just for the gals.

Thursday 26 October


Melbourne yogis, welcome to heaven. Serotonin Eatery has teamed up with Happy Melon for a night of mindful meditation and eating to raise funds for The Butterfly Foundation. For $69 bucks, you can experience Happy Melon’s beloved meditation, followed by a nourishing plant-based degustation (in your activewear, obvs). Yes, there really is a god and you can visit her in Burnley!

Friday 27 October


Guten Tag, Botanical Gardens. Jardin Tan has arranged the perfect marriage – Vietnamese food and European beer. Leave your runners at home, New Head Chef Noah Crowcraft will walk you through a dynamic tasting menu with hand-selected beers explained by resident-beer connoisseur Thijs van den Ende. We suggest booking, there are limited spots available.
