Many of us may still be nursing a post Grand Final day hangover, but we can still plan our week’s antics right? (Maybe with less Carlton Draft though). Melbourne is serving us up a Harry Potter trivia night, a Cherry Blossom festival and a brew master flown in from Germany.
Here are 5 awesome things to do in Melbourne this week:
Cherry Blossom Festival
Sake Restaurant & Bar are celebrating the Cherry Blossom Festival this month with an exclusive spring menu. Available until October 19th, the executive Chefs over at Sake have whipped up a different menu for each restaurant (that just gives us an excuse to go more than once!). The menus include their stellar sashimi and sushi dishes as well as kingfish ceviche, scallop tempura and beef tataki (plus heaps more). You can check out all the menus and info here.
Harry Potter Trivia
Ditch the muggles for the evening, put on your best dress robes and head down to Bartronica for a magical night of trivia. This Tuesday its time to put all that Potter knowledge from your childhood to good use and have a crack at winning $200 worth of Potter goodies. Entry is $15 and includes a pint of beer or cider. Questions will cover both movies and books though so make sure you brush up on both! All the info for the night can be found here.
Weihenstephaner Degustation Dinner
Hophaus have flown a brew master all the way from Weihenstephaner, Germany, for this special dinner so you know it’s going to be legit. The night will feature an 8-course menu, matched by chef Damian Love, and a chance to hear from Weihenstephaner’s no. 1 brew master, Tobias Zollo. Tickets are $135 and you can check out all the info here.
A – Space
Sometimes we just need a break, to chill out and relax a bit. Life can be stressful and the guys at A – Space have got you covered. This week they’re kicking off their 5-week long mindfulness and meditation course to help deal with stress and anxiety. They’ll help you build positive habits, teach you techniques to help manage stress and show you how to recognize stress triggers. The course is $418 for five weeks and you will be supported the whole way by other like-minded people. Check out all the info here.
One For The Diary…
Just giving you guys a heads up that this weekend is the Yarra Valley Shedfest. This awesome little wine festival features 14 different smaller wineries from across the Yarra Valley, including Billanook Estate, Seville Estate and Yarra Peaks. Each winery will have live music and serve entrée-sized meals. You can pick the wine and food you’d like to try or choose a little pocket of wineries and jump from one to the next. Tickets range in price between $15 and $65 and early bird specials are available. Check out all the info here.
