Yes, the bottle shops are still open (for now, at least), but with the option to follow social distancing and still stock up on our drink of choice, why wouldn’t you? Whether you need the ingredients for a cocktail or want to hand over your tipple choice to the experts, we’ve got the delivery option for you.

Alcohol Clubs & Subscriptions

  • Naked Wines is less of a wine club and more of an investment opportunity. Just sign up for a monthly fee and the returns are access to independent, exclusive Aussie wines. For $40 a month you’ll become a Naked Angel, a membership that gives you credit to purchase wines off the website with big discounts, plus a free bottle of wine each month. You can choose your wines or let them pick for you, with free next day delivery to Melbourne metro areas.

  • Beer Cartel has a range of beer available to help you get through isolation. They are currently selling Quarantinnies beer packs which are limited to just 48. It features amazing brews from around Australia, with cans from Two Birds, The Grifter, Hawkers, and many more. Buy a pack here.

  • Good Pair Days is all about making sure they pick the wines that suit your palate (like the Hogwarts sorting hat but for grown-ups). When you sign up they’ll ask questions about your personal tastes and come up with recommendations from their team of sommeliers. From there you’ll get three (or more) wines delivered each month, with the option to increase or pause the subscription if needed.

  • Joining the Craft Cartel beer club is the equivalent of asking for whatever the bartender’s drinking. Your beer pack comes in either eight or 16 and is delivered monthly, giving you access to craft and independent beers from around the country. This subscription is completely preselected which takes all the stress out of working out what to drink, so you can just focus on enjoying the beer.

  • For something a bit more left of field, Gin Society is offering a bi-monthly subscription for lovers of all things botanicals. You’ll receive a carefully chosen small-batch gin delivered to your door every two months, along with their Gin Journal complete with tasting notes, reviews and recipes. They’re currently shouting your delivery and a little extra gift with each bottle.

Alcohol Delivery Services

  • Jimmy Brings promise to deliver wine, beer and spirits to your door in under 30 minutes, with all the ease of a free app on your phone. They even offer mixed packs with the ingredients to whip up a G&T or Aperol Spritz, plus mix and match slabs so you won’t get bored drinking the same beer. Check out what they've got here.

  • Budgie Smuggler is a custom cocktail service from the team at Budgie Bar. There are a stack of varieties to choose from which all have completely customisable labels; perfect if you're looking to gift someone in lockdown, and even better if you feel like sending yourself some positive affirmations + alcohol.

  • Tipple delivers to 120 suburbs across Melbourne, each day from midday to 11pm. Just download the app, choose your booze and select a delivery time and they’ll bring it straight to your doorstep. They’ve got over 800 drinks to choose from so the hardest part will be picking your poison.

  • Hello Drinks has you covered in the spirits caper. Hello Drinks sells beer, wine, spirits, and mixers, and also have a range of cocktail recipes on site to make the most out of the loot you just bought.

  • Blackhearts & Sparrows is still open for business in-store, but they also offer delivery across Melbourne. There’s no need to get dressed for access to their amazing selection, with all the info on drinkability and body for help in choosing the right drop.

  • South Yarra’s The Emerson has hit the ground running, offering 10am-10pm home delivery of wine, beer, spirits and sparkling from their rooftop to your kitchen. You can order online or call them on 9825 0900 for speedy same-day delivery. They’re also whipping up antipasto platters, so you’ll have the full spread to yourself when you host your online book club.

  • Lockdown drinks can be as classy as you choose. Check out Cocktail Porter for bar-worthy bottled cocktails delivered right to your doorstep. There's also an epic range of cocktail kits if you fancy a bit of DIY—we recommend the Whisky 4 Ways box for the ultimate at-home houseparty.

  • If you can’t get out of the house but your fave bottle shop doesn’t deliver, Deliveroo and UberEats have got your back. Just log on to the app, select your bottle-o of choice and you’ll be cracking a cold one in no time.

Alcohol Direct from the Source

  • Richmond distillery Brogan’s Way has their full range of gins available to order online and are currently offering free shipping across Melbourne. Check out their website for classic and creative cocktail recipes to complete your happy hour.

  • This one's primed for date night. Richmond's refined cocktail bar, Ugly Duckling, is offering up their signature cocktails to sink into at home. Pair it up with a charcuterie selection and premium cheeses and it'll almost feel like you're there. Order online for delivery or pick-up.
  • Although the Stomping Ground venues will be closed for the foreseeable future, their online shop is still fully stocked. Keep it varied with the Isolation Hydration, a mixed 12 pack of their favourite beers, or grab a slab of your favourite core range or limited-edition special. They’re offering free delivery to Melbourne metro areas on orders over $35.

  • Footscray craft brewery Hop Nation is working to #keeplocalalive with their range of beers available online. We recommend investing in the Communitinnies, a mixed 12 pack of locally brewed cans. They’re offering free shipping in Melbourne metro areas.

  • Help a winery recover from the devastating bushfires and get your small-batch wine delivered directly from the Adelaide Hills. The team at Vinterloper are some of the best and most adventurous winemakers in the game and they ship to Melbourne for just $10. If you want to make your relationship permanent, they also offer subscriptions.
