An All-Pink Rooftop Bakery Is Landing In Burwood With Berry-Loaded Croissants And Pink-Kissed Drinks

By

Baked goods are officially the flavour of 2024. But what if they were all pink? Newcomer to Melbourne’s sweet scene is dousing their entire offering in a pastel pink, from buttery croissants loaded with creamy raspberry-strawberry filling to pink-kissed iced tea.

Burwood Brickworks is fast becoming the dining destination of Melbourne’s east and its rooftop, already playing host to all-day diner Rombe—which opened earlier this year—will be joined by the playful Baked Wonder, opening Sunday.

When you walk into the sun-soaked bakery, you’re greeted with a cascading stainless steel display stacked with baked goods ripe for the picking. In the croissant department, flavours range from sweet to savoury—think honey caramel with roasted pecans and almonds, and carrot-stuffed croissants.

There are more flakey-tasty pastries up for grabs, including a boeuf (beef) and pickle number topped with poppy seeds. But the jewel in Baked Wonder’s crown? It’s their croissant-cross-choc-chip-cookie, aptly named a crookie.

The pink-licked coffee machine is pumping out all the usual suspects on the hot drinks front, including coffee, spiced chai and hot chocolates served with heart-shaped marshmallows (pink, of course). And the colour theme doesn’t stop there—staff sport cute AF peach frilly aprons and adorable pink bow ties.

To celebrate the opening on Sunday 30 June, Baked Wonder are slinging free croissants for the first 100 sweet-toothed punters. More on this over here.
