It’s that time of year again where Melbourne welcomes Moonlight Cinema back for its 29th summer, returning to their usual turf—the Royal Botanic Gardens on Friday 29 November 2024.
As Christmas comes knocking, Moonlight is set to have your screens full of classics for two whole weeks, including Love Actually, Elf, The Holiday, and Home Alone. They’ve also whipped up a list of some of this year's biggest blockbusters like Gladiator II with Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s WICKED, The Fall Guy, and tons more.
There’s two primo offerings this year. You can go down the Gold Grass path with deluxe bean beds plonked in the best viewing spots and waiter service direct to your bean bed. There’s also a bookable Premium Experience which gets you a classic popcorn, a cosy blanket and personal waiter service to your bean bed.
The pop-up candybars this year will not disspoint, with the Aperol Spritz Bar returing for another season dishing out the fave Italian cocktail plus canned margs for the tequila-loving moviegoers, and the Connoisseur Lounge will be slinging the classic movie snack, ice cream.
Otherwise, you know the drill—you can BYO all your own fave snacks and rugs for a cosy night on the grass under the stars. It's also pooch-friendly for anyone keen to bring along their four-legged friends.
