Ever wanted to live out your very own White Lotus experience but without the murder mystery?
Three Hummock Island, a private island off the Tassie coast might be just the spot to do it—best of all you can rent it for just $750 a night.
The 23,000 acre island is 30km off Tasmania’s north-west coast, near Stanley. It’s covered in lush rainforest, those iconic orange lichen-covered granite boulders and completely uninhabited except for two caretakers.
Arrive in style by small plane, boat or helicopter (it’s 40 mins from Essendon Airport, extra) and post up in a century-old historic homestead. The accom has four bedrooms, three of which have king-sized beds and one room with bunks. There’s room to squeeze 12 people in there and, inclusive of extra people charges, at max capacity it'll set you back only $150 per person.
It also has a fully equipped kitchen but you can splash on a private chef to do all the cooking for you for $1200-$3000 depending on how long they’re there for. If that’s a little too rich for your tastes, opt for their grocery package and they’ll send over a stack of goodies from LaManna & Sons for you for the duration of your stay, or take your own.
While you’re there enjoy the fresh air and go bushwalking, oyster harvesting, kayaking, birdwatching, boating, fishing, snorkelling, swimming (for the bold, it’s cold in the Strait), photography, 4WD tours, yoga, meditation, helicopter tours and if you’re there between May and August you’ll be able to catch the Southern Lights.
