Perth is a city full of dog lovers and coffee addicts, so it’s no wonder that plenty of our fave cafes don’t mind if you bring your four-legged friend along. We’ve found some of our favourite places that will give your pooch some love, throw in a doggy treat and maybe even make them famous on Instagram.
Here are our favourite dog-friendly cafes in Perth.
Slate Cafe
Swan Valley
Slate Cafe might be a little further afield, but with a dog playground for your pooch, an on-site treat truck, a cappuccino for you and a puppuccino for your pet, it's worth the drive. These guys have doggy play dates for particular dog breeds, so keep an eye on their Facebook page and head out for a paw-some day out.
The Little Concept
Fremantle
Serving up healthy dog treats and some amazing food for humans too, The Little Concept welcomes dogs of all shapes and sizes to hang out the front of their alfresco area, and if they're well behaved, they're welcome inside too. This dog-friendly cafe in Fremantle just ticks all the boxes, doesn't it?
Propeller
North Fremantle
Propeller's generously sized outdoor area spills out onto a good patch of grass that's perfect for hanging out with your pooch. They love dogs so much here that they even provide treats to keep them busy while you enjoy your brekky.
Steam Haus
Maylands
The rustic and spacious back verandah of Steam Haus is the perfect setting for some quality bonding time with your pup. They sell treats for your fur babies and donate all proceeds to the Greyhound Rescue organisation.
Little Stove
Bicton
This neighbourhood cafe in the heart of Bicton loves dogs almost more than they love people. With dog bowls at the ready outside and dog treats and trinkets waiting up at the counter, you’ll receive nothing but a warm welcome when you arrive with your furry friend. While you’re there, it would be rude not to grab one of their delicious daily specials made from fresh, local ingredients—you’ll thank us.
The Orange Box
Leighton Beach
This kiosk is completely alfresco, and with the beach only 50 meters away, it’s the perfect pit-stop to fuel up after you’ve taken the dog for a walk. There’s plenty of space and seating, from hanging hammocks, beach chairs and an oval right out the front for your pooch to run around on while you sip your morning coffee or freshly squeezed orange juice.
Yelo
Trigg
The verandah of Yelo can often be seen covered with locals and their dogs, taking in the view of the ocean and the sea breeze in the afternoon. With plenty of space for your dog to hang out the front, this little cafe is the perfect rest stop for a walk along the coast.
Babylon Cafe
Leederville
Babylon’s insta features pups of every variety soaking up the sunshine in their beautiful courtyard, which is covered in colourful wall art and shaded by beautiful trees. The team here is dishing out toasties for brekky and a good cup of coffee—what more could you need?
Canteen
Trigg Beach
Serving up some of the best breakfast going around from their little shack with views of Trigg Beach, Canteen provides plenty of alfresco dining options that are dog-friendly so that you and your pooch can enjoy brekky together. Just watch out for any sneaky pets ready to steal a bite of your food.
Daisies
Cottesloe
Everyone’s favourite neighbourhood haunt in Cottesloe does healthy takeaway food (think chia pods and lunch boxes) just as well as they do comfort foods like baked bean jaffles, bacon ‘n’ egg muffins and sausage rolls. With a sunny alfresco area and a patch of lawn right next to the tables, bringing your dog with you for breakfast is most certainly encouraged at Daisies.
Furbaby Cafe
Westminister
Furbaby is a one-stop dog pampering spot. Head to this local fave with your doggo and order breakfast or lunch for you both. While you’re there, take advantage of their grooming services and great range of household goods. Don't walk, run your dog to this puppy-topia.
Rise & Grind
Doubleview
The crew at Rise & Grind will probably be more obsessed with your dog than you are, so take your pooch here when they deserve some extra loving, and you need a good fat feed. The sweet treats here will blow your mind, so just be sure to eat them before your dog can.
The Little Pantry
Shenton Park
Nab a table outside, soak up the sunshine and have breakfast with your furry friend at The Little Pantry in Shenton Park. The food here is epic, and the owner will spot your dog and be out for a chat in no time. She might even bring your pup a treat if they’re lucky.
Chu Bakery
Mount Lawley
This spacious neighbourhood bakery is a top brunch contender for you and your pooch. With Hyde Park just across the road, you'll want to grab a takeaway coffee and a delicious snack for a puppy play date and picnic with friends.
Stomp Coffee
North Perth
Been a long week? Take your dog for a stroll to Stomp Coffee in North Perth. This leafy green oasis is all about good coffee and good vibes, making it a great place to relax and lounge around in their courtyard with your pets. The food here is sensational, and you’ll want to wash down their weekly special with a house-roasted coffee.
Finlay & Sons
Inglewood
We can’t get enough of the tasty treats from Finlay & Sons, and neither will your pup. With plenty of sunny outdoor tables and a takeaway window if you’re on the go, you have no excuse to miss this local breakfast hero on your next outing.
Brixton Yard
North Perth
Your dog will be the cool fur kid on the block with a visit to Brixton Yard. Heck, the team even celebrated International Dog Day with a special Beer Farm brew your doggo can enjoy too. With all the Bow Wow Brau proceeds going to the local dog refuge, these guys get a big thumbs up from us.
Parkside Coffee
North Perth
This cute hole-in-the-wall coffee shop is the newest addition to Stuart Street in Perth and your next stop to explore with your furry friend. This coffee window is the brainchild of Alex from Daylight Coffee and the team at Miller and Baker, bringing delicious coffee and pastry goodness to the park.
Boo Espresso
North Perth
Puppuccino for your pooch! For reals. This dog-friendly cafe in Perth makes their puppuccinos with lactose-free milk, so you don’t have to worry about your little friend getting sick. Boo is the perfect place to stop in once you’ve tired your pup out with a run around the park across the road.
The Camfield
Burswood
Okay, it's not a cafe per se. But if you’re after something a bit stronger than a cup of coffee, we recommend pulling in for a pint some hot chips at The Camfield. With plenty of space for your doggo to explore without getting into any mischief and dog bowls outside on the terrace, this is the perfect break spot during your walk along the Swan River foreshore.
Now, take your pooch-filled adventure up a notch with a stay at Perth's best pet-friendly accommodation.
